I Salute them!!!!!! Somebody adhering to the law of Supply and Denand. Compare this to that other company that just had 5 to 10% increases in prices, and at least according to one poster, They couldn't see any significant differences between the 09 & 2010 Models, not even offering the glide out shelves--I hope that company increases their prices by 50%!!!---after all they are still about 2x behind gagennau?--undoubtedbly the finest ovens made------Commmmmmmmeeeeeeeoonnnnnn me fib??? I'd recommend a repair call with a firm that regularly services SZ to check everything out, plus the service person can show you how to best remove & clean the grill work. Your problem may be a door seal or something else unrelated to the grill gunk.

antss: I don't think so; the waterline is on the bottom (I found it easily). What I am describing is on the side wall of the freezer. Said wall -- in a typical installation -- goes nearly flush against the wall opening so one wouldn't have a chance really routing anything through there. Certainly not even a tiny waterline. I even called Sub-zero and the whatever technician they put me in touch with didn't know what I was talking about. The freezer's working just fine so not too worried about it, just surprised that there was no mention of this in the installation literature nor was there any warning/explanation/indication posted next to it. I will have to take the freezer out temporarily a few weeks from now when I install my cabinetry above and around and I will snap a photo of this diabolical device at that time so we can have something to look at in future discussions.

Well, "CRS" kicked in when I made my earlier post. I had forgot that SZ uses 2 compressors, 2 condensers 2 Evaporators, One set for the Fridge compartment and another set for the Freezer compartment. So there is "Always the chance" that after replacing these components for the Fridge compartment, that in the "Not Too Distant future", you could have an "Encore Performance" for the freezer---just another reason why I'm not a fan of double compressor fridges. Based on the above info, I would pass on repairing the old one. At the very least I would want to know the make and model number of the compressor they are they going to install---I think that's a "resonable question"---would you put a new Transmission or Engine in your car without knowing anything about it? That way, we can get an idea about the efficiency of the replacement system. My guess would be that it will be an "Embraco Compressor" (Owned by Whirlpool Corp) probably the same model as used in many other fridges (cept for the price) but we will never know unless you can get the info about the replacement parts--also How long are they warranted and is that (Just the parts), not the labor?
