There were too many places to have to update constantly. I hardly check my email! Of course when I don't, I always get something interesting. Thanks, unless I'm missing something important (I do from time -to-time), the "import" function for "Mail" is limited to "Communicator x, Outlook, and a few others, a method to import from Thunderbird (itself so to speak) isn't there. Now this hasn't been a problem in the past, as recent as December I put a new Dell PC into service for my wife, and copied her Thunderbird mail files (just a copy) into the Mail folder on the new PC, worked fine. Has worked for me in the past too, but not this time. I've put some considerable effort since posting this thread, and still haven't figured it out (there should not be a need to "import" or otherwise "map" protocols, the protocol/coding is the same one copy of Thunderbird to the next). This time I am working form a backup file, not he old application of TB, I may have done something wrong in the backup step. I also find it strange that the subject isn't addressed on the Mozilla/TB help forum. The subject is addressed, my difficulty isn't.

Regarding the BCC when you click 'Forward' you then click on the tiny word 'To' beside where you place your address and your address book drops down listed on the left side and on the right side are spots for 'To', 'CC' and 'BCC'. If you want everyone to have a copy highlight the first address, hold down the 'Shift' button and tap 'End' - beside the Delete button - then click the BCC tab. To select a few highlight the first one, hold down the CTRL (or Control on some keyboards) and click on those you want to have the email. Release the buttons on completion and click BCC. In both cases click OK to send the addresses into the address bar.

I'm sorry I think this is user set up error here. After the creation of a message rule did you select the "Apply Now" button? Did you select all the "OK" buttons when exiting? I ask as I have been remiss in clicking all the necessary buttons when building a rule, and it has failed. In your frustration to get the message rule option to work, did you create multiple entries for the same rule? If so, remove all but one. In a last ditch effort you could remove all the message rules and start from the beginning. DA
