Wonderful Package from Karen

I received my fabulous package from Karen, but you are going to have to wait for pictures because my DH's relatives are coming in sometime today and I'm not sure when and I have a TAD bit of cleaning up to do -- just wanted to let you know I received it, and will post the photos and description asap!

Everyone, Blueiris has e-mailed me to let me know she has received her package. One of the gifts I sent her was broken ;-( so we are looking into replacing it.

I saw messages from several of you on the other forum. Glad you enjoyed seeing the pictures, I just love each item because it came from Karen and she is a special friend. Tenderlee, I just love anything with roses on it. I've hung several plates on my walls and use some on easels to stand on my buffet or other countertops. I mostly look for them while out thrifting--and get so excited when I find a really pretty one. Many of mine are just the saucers, they are easier to find than the big plates. I know I had so much fun collecting things that I thought Karen would like--got really excited when I found the frog fairy because Karen had just used a graphic like her in one of her posts. What worked out even better was when she realized she went perfectly with two other frogs she already had. Now I need to figure out where to use each treasure, and to pack the Christmas ones away until next year. Luvs

Yeah what Katie said (whistling...) The steak knives for vegetarins brings up a point that hit home for me....sure, this swap is about favorite things, but I find that MY favorite stuff would NOT be welcome in some places, so I stick with 'what would he/she like?' I'm such a practical person, sigh.

Julie, I'm so sorry to hear about your Sidnee. I hope the Bichon things help to bring you good memories. I was worried about the package getting there safely. I was also SO stressed because I forgot to enclose the note with it!!! It's been driving me crazy knowing you'd get the package without a note. I was going to e-mail you when I saw you had already received it. I'm glad you like everything. It was very easy shopping for you and I found we have a lot in common, including the only pet I've ever had ~ a bichon. I know how adorable they are. I'm heading out of town for a few days, so when I get back I will send the note in an email. I also wanted to let you know that the package was so late because I was still waiting for something else (which hasn't arrived yet), so you still have another little gift on the way. I wish I could give blood, but I've made Bob promise he will when we return from vacation. Please don't stay from here in fear of being a downer. This is the most upbeat, inspiring, uplifting place I know of on the Net and you are adored here.

I promise to take pics and post them y'all. They won't be the best but pics none the less. I've already warned my family and friends. LOL! Some in my group just don't get the whole pic thing yet, but they love the food! Ann, I agree, it was great talking to you! Sherry, if you ever want some more HC just let me know. Linda, I will try to post that recipe in the next couple of days. This will be one of our new ones to try this year. I hope to fool BIL with the spinach. It is still on page 63 Karen. Thanks again Karen for a super swap box! It will go down in history with me and my family and friends! BTW, the Mayhaw Jelly is fantastic! David

Sorry! Sorry! Sorry! We had one set of out of state relatives leaving and another set arriving and we were the main gathering place, so I apologize for not getting back here sooner!! The package Karen sent me was perfect, and I feel horrible that one of her beautiful gifts broke in the mail. Anyway {{gwi:1464054}}
Karen sent these vibrant place mats and matching dark red napkins - she must have read I want to redo my kitchen in rich Southwestern colors, and these will be a perfect addition.

She also sent this set of Caribbean recipes, complete with accompanying cd - I have neighbors who LOVE theme parties, so I can see handing each of them one of these recipes and putting the cd on and celebrating. I've never seen anything like this, it's a great idea.

This is the beautiful dish that Karen sent me that broke in the mail :( It is also perfect for my kitchen and Karen, I'm so sorry it broke.
Karen obviously did her homework and sent items that fit me perfectly - thank you so much for the wonderful, thoughtful package! I love it!

Awww, sorry about the breakage with the dish....it is just lovely! I love the colors in the placemats and the cookbook looks wonderful!!! Caribbean themed parties are so much fun! A great package, RR!!

Love the colorful placemats and napkins. I can never have enough of these! The cookbook looks so interesting and hope to see some recipes from it...hint..hint!

Oh dear...too bad the dish was broken, it's a beauty and with such a unique shape too!

Ooooh, I love the bright colors in thos placemats and napkins! Went well with the dish too (notice I said "went"...)! Sorry that beautiful dish was a casualty.

The Caribbean recipes will be fun to try. Can't wait for you to post that you are having a caribbean theme party!

Karen puts together a great swap box for sure! Trust me, I know!! Love the colorful placemats and napkins and I'm sure the cookbook has some great recipes that you can share with us. The covered dish is beautiful, I'm so sad to see it didn't make the trip(I sure hope it's insured by the shipper). Great package Karen!! I know Blueiris will enjoy all of it.

What a fun package. I'm sorry to see that neat dish broken. Caribbean food is so good and calypso and reggae music make any night a party.

Ooooouuuuuuccccchhhh.....

Glad I paid for insurance fo my package to Susie. Not that it would have helped, that pitcher is a one-of-a-kind item. Amazing that as well as we package stuff, some gorillas still decide to play soccer with our boxes. Grrrrr....

Beautiful classic stuff. I know the bowl/cover will be a stunning addition to your presentation, when it gets straighted out!

What cool hot summer time items! I'd love to hear more about the Carribbean cook book. I looooove combining music with menus -- I used ot actually burn CDs for my dinner parties!
