I do a lot more reading these day! Books are my friends LOL I have found in doing some investigating that in all of the big hotmail changes (whether we want them or not unfortunately) they are also making some very sneaky changes and putting some peoples info out there with out them knowing it. I have zero info about me on my hotmail info so nothing to share there but here are some interesting things pointed out in windows secrets article. Hotmail's social networking busts your privacy I never look at the new today page I have mine set to go directly to my inbox so I had no idea about all the stuff that is now shown on that page. I just looked at mine and I can see lists of several people that I know and in the lists it tells who they are new friends with! I am sure these people have no idea this info is being broadcast all over the place. for those that use hotmail, windows live, messenger etc any of those you should definitely read the article and check out these settings. I have it all prepared to paste into the proper place on the yahoo signature area but it won't allow me to paste anything. There is a box that says " type" and it appears that is all that it will let you do. The old yahoo mail did not have this problem. You could put what you wanted. I tried to have it go to where I had it saved on my computer but it wouldn't do that either. Hopefullly they update this, if that is not presently allowed. Thanks for your suggestion.

Think I might close all my browsers and delete my cookies for yahoo with something like CCleaner. Then I might make sure I accept yahoo cookies, and go to www.yahoo.com and login. Use CCleaner to always save that cookie. Tell my browser to always accept their cookies. Then only have to login once every two weeks hopefully.

FYI.... A very short time ago, a friend of mine was a victim of this particular hack at Yahoo. I was listed in her contact list and all I can say is that this "nasty" is virulent. I don't use any Yahoo product and rarely, if ever visit their website. She is the only email friend I have that uses their email and even though we don't converse on a daily basis, just being one of her contacts made me a victim. I began to be barraged with unsavory mail...none of which I opened directly. But, no matter what protection I have on my system [and it's the best] I could not stop the onslaught. I suspect the reason being that I was not the addressee. The clever sender copied me rather than sending directly to my address. I tried every trick I knew to stop the mail...blocking IP #s, etc and nothing worked. My only recourse to stop the action was to delete my own email account entirely and begin a new. I'd had the account for sixteen years with nary a problem. Deleting it felt like loosing an old friend. Then I advised my friend to find another email program. Unfortunately, she didn't heed my advice and I expect she's been hit again. I insisted that she not put my new email address in her contact list so I may be safe this time around...but if not...the account I opened to continue conversing with her is what I consider a throw away account. I won't suffer if I have to close it quickly. Although...when I opened the new account to continue conversing with her...I made her promise not to list me as a contact anywhere on her system. I relate this experience for those of you...who like Jodi...are having difficulty resetting a password...and strongly suggest that you find new non-Yahoo email programs. As the unwitting recipient of my friends computer infection...I had to change all my accounts, etc and it's a task I wouldn't want to repeat. Anne
