Thanks Owbist. Have been all over the Win 7 wallpaper, downloaded several of them from the internet. Put my personal pictures on there, too. Think this is my favorite part of all.I had bookmarked the Sevenforums when I first got it, but have not had time to go back and study it. There is so much to learn and while I don't post often, I read the Computer Forum daily. Everything I know has been learned on this forum.

Followup: What I have found and probly my last post on this trivial problem. This is bottom on my list of things to worry about. Tops on my list of things to mess with It's totally crazy. If the CN 12pt underline fails and I open ANY window and slide it over the top of Wordpad the underline functions for that word. If I adjust the size of the Wordpad window the underline functions. My guess is the switch is stuck and needs a jolt of electricity. I tried a loud stream of the filthiest possible vituperation which didn't solve it but did cause my wife to turn up the TV volume, the dog to crawl under the couch and the cat made it to the top of the refrigerator in a single bound. :-)

Don't recall using Wordpad since about Windows98 but if my feeble old memory serves correctly the shortcuts are the same as for Word. Highlight what you want to change (if you want to do the whole document, press Ctrl + A) and press Ctrl + 1 for single space, Ctrl + 2 for double space and Ctrl + 5 for space and a half. With AbiWord and OpenOffice both being free, I always recommend going with one or both of them over Wordpad. Lots more features and free.

I hadn't thought of the fact that it is a keepsake over like you say, plate of cookies until reading this tonight. Belle's comment was also nice. Sometimes we need to hear nice things from others to stay focused. For the last several years my DD and I have always made artifucal arrangements for funerals. We personalize them and have always had such nice compliments from families. We have had a few occasions where several want our arrangement and they come to us and ask who should get it. That's not good but most of the time it's been rewarding. I'll have to tell you a cute story. I lost a friend and we had made an arrangement for the service. I seen her husband a couple of months later and he said he had placed our arrangement in front of the big window facing their pond and had been watering it faithfully when another friend came by he was showing her how it still looked the same. She had to tell him it would never change and he best quit watering it or he might ruin it. He said they laughed so hard. He was laughing so much it was hard for him to tell me this story.
