What a beautiful blue that bowl is. I, too, have never heard of a berry bowl. It looks like there are drain holes, like a planter has. So, how do you use a berry bowl? (Okay, I know they must be for berries, but what're the holes for?) However you use it, it's beautiful. The berries sound yummy! I love berries. And the tongs, I need to see those in action. They look interesting and very useful.

I have a berry bowl - you wash the berries and put them in the bowl and the excess water drains out the holes and evaporates.

I'm glad you like everything, Deborah. Someone gave me all-wire Kuhn-Rikon tongs in a swap a long time ago...before I started keeping track. If anyone remembers sending them...thank you! I use them nearly every day.

I have to post a picture of the potter's place. He's been there 30+ years has always left pottery out year-round. You slide your money under the door if they're not home. I just love that. My newly business degreed daughter was having a cow, though, lol. "Mom! How can they DO that????"

Another one here that has received some great things form Katie.....I see she is still sending great gifts. Love the pottery and I hope you share a recipe from that book...I LOVE desserts and most anything baked! Enjoy, Deborah....I know you will!

Katie, another great swap package! I love the honor buying thing at the pottery place. I use to buy my eggs and some produce using the same system up at the lake. Sure don't see that here in the city.

I, too, am new to the concept of a berry bowl. What a great idea & what a gorgeous bowl! The tongs look interesting...I have a pair of plain, old tongs that are one of my favorite kitchen tools. And that book looks like pure heaven. I've never had a huckleberry, dired or otherwise. Are they like blueberries?

The berry bowls from our local potteries look a bit different, but the purpose is the same. Here in NC ours look more like colanders with cut-outs instead of holes and there is a shallow saucer that the bowl sits in to contain the water.

That cookbook looks verrrrr-y interesting! Good job, Katie!

What a wonderful package. I love pottery and must admit I never heard of a berry bowl, but will be on the lookout for one. In the meantime, I have a gorgeous orchid pot that was never used for a plant that I could probably put to double duty.

Wahhh! I can't see your pictures! Your package sounds lovely though. A pottery berry bowl..how wonderful! One can never have enough tongs, and I especially love the locking ones as they take up less room. I too love cookbooks..which one did you get? It all sounds so wonderful, I know you will enjoy it!
