I've checked both of the suggestions and now realize that I omitted an important detail: When I used Zamzar, I would upload a video by pasting its URL, then Zamzar would email me a URL for the download page where I would go to obtain the converted file.

On ebay you can find a device I like called a disk drive 'rack' or carrier. You put it in like a floppy drive, on the other 1/2 you put in any disk drive. Then you can plug in the disk like a floppy and run it anytime you want to look at the drive. This could be something for $14 that would help you to move files from old , hard drive, to a new one $60 for 750gb on amazon. JDMADERA has the disk racks for serial (SATA or parallel) or you can use an external hard drive, or any drive with an external adapter $14. I personally like the reasoning of buying a new drive to put all my files on it. I get a new drive, I copy my old files and test the new drive for a while before I commit to it , and have the chance to sell my old drive while having a backup. Another idea: If many files are text based then zip or RAR them and mail them to yourself. Many mail sites accept 2mb up to 20mb mail attachments. That might handle most of your documents and that way you have them backed up. It's a secondary backup.. you should still have them somewhere else but one site I use has been good to me for 5 years, for free, holding 40mb of stuff. Usually any file in a temp folder thats over a couple days old.. I usually have no problems deleting. If I'm concerned for some reason I just add OLD on the end of its file extension. I ocasionally search .*old and clean up those gathering dust. I use slimware.com / slimdrivers to update drivers if I cant find them, or figure out which one at the motherboard manufacturers site. Always make a special restore point before doing any driver installs.

Thanks Terry and Ravencajun. I have some follow-up questions. - for the flash update page, where do I find that page? is it the link I get with secunia scan results? If I go to that link (the secunia results are on my firefox browser now), can I also get the IE and AOL versions there (and will they install in the proper place) - OR - do I have to go through each browser to the update page and download the flash update from within each browser? - For the insecure older versions of files located in the dell setup files c:\i386 - can I delete them? they may not be doing any harm, but if I don't need them, I'd rather get rid of them. that way when I do this scan in the future, I won't get results that show insecure files - or maybe if I do this way in the future and I forget what that location means, it will be nice to not have to deal with it. - do I need all 4 versions of Java version 6, update 7 - for the flashplayer in AOL software, it is only suggesting updating to version 6.0.88.0 or 9.0.47.0 (and this 9.0.47.0 was found to be insecure in it's other locations). Could it be that AOL needs an earlier version of flash? perhaps the newer version 9.0.124.0 isn't compatible with AOL? Thanks. Lynn.
