If you live in a house in a rural area, you may have an occasional mouse that likes the warmth in your house as the weather turns colder. What really struck me was the warmth of the first with color and fabric and softness and a more human proportion and cozy feel given the shape of the room. The other feels, yes refrigerator! It feels cold to me. I think I'd have to wear a sweater even on a summer's day. The noise and echoing would be awful, especially if you have quite a few people in there doing things...clattering dishes, cooking, watching TV, talking, etc. And physically colder trying to heat the volume in that space would be difficult. And as far as luxury, the former has it for me far more so than the latter. We have "open concept" in our kitchen/breakfast nook/family room area...though it's not a large space. It's large enough for entertaining as everyone hangs out in the kitchen anyway and this way there's room for everyone. It's cozy enough for just the 2 of us. Even at that it can get noisy when one is doing dishes or cooking and one is watching tv. DH uses wireless headphones in the a.m. so I don't have to listen to his station. It definitely is a shared space. We have lots of other "away" spaces in the house which we also make use of frequently. I'm not sure I could live with having the bulk of my home completely open though. Once rooms reach a certain proportion, they feel more public than private..

Most people here are pretty good with measurements, but it's not often you seen it right on the photo! It's so crazy not to include measurements, imo, because 90% of inquiries must ask about it!. So I guess FBM has it's own category of furniture--an upholstered chair can be a sofa, or as Sue pointed a regular chair is a "sitting chair". Guess you could flop out on the "small sofa" type chairs, lol.

Arkansas girl - at the top of the FB page is a menu button. (A circle with 9 squares in it on mobile anyway.) Click that, then click feed, and you can select friends there. You then get mostly posts from your actual friends, with less garbage. You have to do it everytime. FB won't let you change it permanently. Gee, I wonder why. 🙄 I really, really hate FB. However my HOA has a very active FB page, and I have a few friends from college who are also active and I enjoy all of that content. I keep threatening to ditch it all anyway. I personally believe FB is a net negative for society right now....and I still use it. Not proud of that either.
