Can you water your plants with water you have steamed veges in?
Comments (2)I think cooking water comes under the term 'grey water', which is water you wouldn't want to drink, but actually doesn't have anything more human-sickening than soap in it. Your plants just might think you are giving them a treat, since most cooking water will have traces (and thus nutrients) of the vegs that had been cooked. If you aren't already, switch to using soap (not detergent) for washing everything including dishes and people; a mild solution of white vinegar is an excellent rinse for soapy items. The used wash and rinse waters are quite satifactory for gardens -- remember that soapy water is an OG treatment to get rid of bugs in the garden....See Moresteam oven question-- steam for breadbaking
Comments (6)trailrunner, if you do it in your Miele, I guess I can do it in a Bosch, right. I don't drench my oven either.. gone are the days of dumping entire cups of water into the bottom of the oven. I kind of blast it with the garden sprayer (or an industrial spray bottle) several times. I can't imagine bread w/o steam (unless it is challah or something like that). Good point too about the size of the gaggenau.. I'm looking forward to being able to do 4 loaves at once with my two ovens.. a tiny gaggenau certainly wouldn't help my cause....See Morehelp! water level on steam boiler very low
Comments (1)Add some water. Look for a valve to let water into the boiler. Is there a level mark on the glass to show you how full to make it? Make sure the sight glass isn't obstructed and your level isn't higher or lower than shown. For safety's sake, install a low water cutoff asap, so it shuts down on low water....See MoreSteam vs no steam dryers?
Comments (12)My first load was a very large one of T-Shirts and pants and some other stuff. It did seem more wrinkled than with my old agitator machine. And they came out of the dryer, 'Cotton-Normal'rather wrinkled too. So I put them back in for the Refresh steam cycle and while they were better after, not as wrinkle free as my old Whirlpool. Today I did sheets used the anti-static modifier button which adds steam intermittently towards the end of the cycle and they were surely better for it. I can see how the steam adds de-wrinklification. But I also wish there wasn't a need. Guess that's what you get with HE: faster spin times save energy....See Morelazy_gardens
