A lot of it depends on what kind of grass you have and what kind of soil you have. My soil is heavy clay, so it has great water holding capacity (once I get it to absorb the water). And I have mostly native grasses. We got 0.12 of an inch of rain on June 16. Since fireworks are allowed in Utah, I watered in the early hours of July 3rd. They also allow fireworks around a state holiday on July 24, so I'll water again then, unless we get rain between now and then (unlikely). I'll probably water again in August, unless we get rain before mid August or so. Assuming you've got KBG and/or rye and/or tall fescue, you should be able to go a week between watering if your grass has a healthy root system. If you go much longer than that, the lawn will probably show signs of stress and eventually go dormant. But once it gets water again after that, it will come out of dormancy.

Depends where you live, where the plants are and what soil they are in. I can get my peppers planted in soil outdoors to survive 1wk with no water in desert AZ with 100F+ heat. They have established root systems. I will deep water before leaving, cover them under full shade tent. They suffer and are wilted on return, but recover. On the other hand a new seedling in a small pot with fast draining soil may not last 3 days indoors without watering. Al

It makes sense that since spider mites are in the arachnid family, they are tougher to get rid of...pesticides for most insects don't work on spiders. I did want to comment on a previous statement (jennq) that once you have them you will always have them...not true! I had a room full of houseplants of all kinds, and they (unfortunately) attacked my "maryjane" plant, which was in the center stage (they were all on the same table) with a vengence. I had been away for a few days and came home to the cannabis in a tent web...covered. I took it outside and disposed of it. That was four years ago and I never had another spider mite. So...yesterday my partner finds a huge majesty palm tree at Lowe's for $5. He brought it home and it was completely covered in webbing and mites (he isn't experienced at looking closely). I probably should have tossed it, but I cut off all but one inner leaf, stripped it of all soil and gave it an underwater soapy neem bath, then gave it a hand sanitizer rub, then repotted and have it in my bathroom for a few weeks. Of course, my anxiety over my other plants getting mites may outweigh my dysfunctional rescue urge here. I wonder if anyone has EVER successfully cleared a plant of spider mites...? I understand plants are more susceptible to these critters when the plant is stressed with watering issues (consistancy helps), but this opens me up to a ton of other questions...

I didn't mix it up as well as you did because I only have a 10 x 10 kitchen in this house and I there isn't much to work with. ha. Unfortuantely, I didn't see your response before I ordered pulls last night from RH. I chickened out over the Aubrey due to the screws. I know. I know. I shouldn't have, but I can't stand the thought of 4 holes. It just seems excessive to me. Really...nothing compared to the Aubrey line, but I ordered Ephram because it's just simple and I think nobody will really notice them as they won't stand out. I'm sure it will be fine when all is said and done. I think I messed up because I didn't order any 6" pulls. I ordered 8" pulls for all the drawers because I didn't know what else to do. I have a 15" trash pull out and a 15" drawer above it. I have four 18" drawers, one 24" drawer and six 30" drawers. I'm wondering if I should get 6" pulls for the trash and drawer above it and maybe for the 18" drawers too. What do you all think? Would the 8" look to over-sized? I ordered the matching knobs for my 3 glass upper cabinets (I didn't want a lot of uppers in this small space so that's all I have)and the cabinets that are hinged. I don't even have an island to buy hardware for. ha. Lastly, I ordered the 12" ephram pulls for the pantry doors. I wasn't sure what to do about the pantry. Please give me your suggestions. Just because I ordered the hardware doesn't mean I can't re-order or change it up some. I'm not stuck with it. Ci Lantro, the pulls you shared are beautiful too. I'd return the RH pulls in a heartbeat, but like you said...they just don't have any sizes to choose from. I can't tell you how I've searched online to no avail for graduated sizes of pulls. I love your sense of humour. I will post photos as soon as all is finished. It's about 80% now. Fair warning though....my kitchen is not the typical kitchen shown on this forum. I didn't have resale in mind when I put it together. It's colorful and happy and god knows....this house really needed a huge dose of both. It was a spec house built in 1981 and EVERYTHING was still orginal...all builder's grade...not one color was in the house but beige or brown. It was tired and dirty and worn out. The house lacks any architectural interest too...so....there was nothing to do but go with it and make it as happy as I could with color so you wouldn't notice the bones aren't very good. I would venture to guess most folks on this forum won't like it much. ha.
