Do I need to recaulk entire tub enclosure?

My contractor did a lovely job on our tile but then a lousy cauking job. He made a point of not grouting the corners which I understand that it's better to caulk so they don't crack. However he did a lousy job caulking with white silicone caulk. I could live with with the messy look (I guess - though I wish he's just let us do it in the first place if it was going to look so awful) however there is one spot where the tub meets the tile with a small gap. Am I right in thinking the only way to fix this is to remove all of the caulk and recaulk it or can I add a little more silicone. I remember removing silicone caulk is a real pain. Any help would be appreciated. Also if I recaulk around the tub and tile do I also need to recaulk the vertical corners of the shower enclosure. Thanks,

Kinsey
