Long Running Script

My PC is a desktop Dell inspiron using windows 7 my internet provider is Time Warner. Everytime I use computer a few minutes and attempt to visit a site I get a message saying that site is not responding due to a long running script. I try to use the stop script icon that appears on right bottom of screen but it does nothing. I have to turn computer off and start over sometimes to connect. How do I fix this any help would be greatly appreciated. Iggie

Photobucket is so flakey always. I know a craft forum I viist they are all having trouble with it and complaining more than ever lately so it may have nothing to do with your computer. I ditched it ages ago and now that webshots is gone I use image shack if I need to post photos on forums and so far so good but I really miss webshots. Mary

usually that is a problem with in a website you are visiting, there is a script that is running with in that site that is not functioning properly, your browser will alert you to this, if it causes your browser to freeze hit stop script, often it can cause the browser to shut down. If you are using firefox this can sometimes happen if one of your add-ons is having issues.

for those with adblock plus on your firefox if you have not added the easylist subscription to your adblock you NEED to do that it has the list of all the known ads to block for those that have it and are having issues be sure you update your easylist. Here is where you get easylist it only takes one click to add it on. Add EasyList to Adblock Plus click where you see that text on the page.

So you tried with IE, Firefox, and Chrome ?

Usually the first thing you'd try is disabling all the add-ons and extensions - and I would indeed try that - see if one of them is interfering.
But if it's happening with every browser then that's a less likely suspect - unless you have the same bad add-on or too many add-ons with every browser.

Other than that, you want to look for something that's tying up the cpu, or using too much memory.
