There should be a box to check on the wizard that pop ups at startup to not search for this hardware. I know it's annoying, I just went through that on a machine. Not having a cd, you can search the internet and download the drivers for your modem, then instead of a cd, you can tell the wizard to browse to the modem driver download that you've saved.

I did contact Worldnet, twice, via the "Chat". The first time the agent didn't respond when the going got rough. The second time, I may have phrased my question better, they come back with a "canned" fix, for Error 50, bla,bla.. It didn't work.
