Something simple you might consider trying first...

Put IE9 in compatibility mode by clicking the little icon beside the address bar(see below). That will make your IE9 appear to be and supposedly render pages as if it were IE7.

It may or may not help but it's easy to try.

Whether a user is a fan of IE or not, version 9 is the most up-to-date and secure available. It really shouldn't be downgraded so hopefully the compatibility suggestion will work. If not, since all users should maintain more than one browser on a system perhaps an alternate browser would be the proper approach to this concern.

I agree I would wonder about that form you are filling out personally. Nothing should require you to downgrade your system to something less secure if it is legit.
Use firefox or another browser to see if it works with them.

I think I would contact whoever created the form and question them about this before I did any thing to my system.

It's hard to imagine that the form wouldn't be compatible with some other browser. It would only take you a minute or two to download another reliable browser like Firefox or Opera and see if it worked with that. That would be easier than messing around with your Internet Explorer setup.

Using Chrome and FF the Kentucky link reports they are not supported. Using IE9, Slimbrowser and Opera the link apparently works fine as I get access. All browsers are current.

It is a small county form and they require you have Java which I have removed.
I will call them as I am surely not the first with this problem.
I am glad I asked as I surely do not want to compromise
my computer in any way after Corinne worked so hard.
I will find another way.
