We have the GE Monogram and I absolutely love it. Yes, sometimes it is oh so quiet and then it will go through spells where it is horribly noisy. Had the repairmen out several times and they are worthless. What I have learned to do is turn it off when I am in the kitchen and it is loud. It's just a cooler afterall and not a refrigerator, so it doesn't affect the ice already made. Also, this resets the machine and it isn't noisy again right away. Then I turn it back on at night or whenever I am leaving the area. I have been doing this for a year or so and it doesn't seem to be hurting it. I have about 6 months left on my extended warranty. By the way, I forgive it this annoyance because I am so happy with the ice!

Chris, I think the colors in your granite go with the F&I, but overall your stone is more dramatic and darker than mine. The F&I is a wow backsplash, and if you put it on every wall, I think it may be too much with your stone. I would put it only on the range wall. On the other walls, I would put a larger-scale tile in a complementary quartzite that picks up the lighter color in the F&I-- maybe look at the boading creme from Tile Shop. There are also some great quartzite random brick tiles on the Tile Shop web site for less $ than Fire and Ice, and that would be easier to coordinate with their other offerings. "Because I just heard from some that told me that since I have such a situation in the basement, it may be best that I do not install a Waste King device under the sink. His reasoning was that if I use the Waste King and do not properly "wash down" the crushed contents" with water, it may "dry-up" or "clump" up over time, causing me more repetative blockage in my sewer." You have been given good advice. I cannot improve on it.
