New FireFox is slow

I updated 3 computers to FF 3.6.10 and notice it is slow loading pages. Anyone having problems with the new version?

I haven't noticed any difference in speed since it was updated.

Try this: Type about:config in the address bar. Then, if needed click the "IÂll be careful, I promise!" button. Next, in the filter box Â type in: tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent Right-click that about:config entry, and select "Toggle" This will convert Firefox back to loading opening a new tab from a web page on the far right of the tab bar, rather than right next to the tab you opened it from. To switch back, follow these same steps and toggle the "false" back to "true". The above procedures come from the link below. HTH. I have Firefox 3.6.16. If I click on Tools, About Mozilla Firefox is at the bottom of the list. It tells what version I have. Above that in the drop down box is Check for Updates. I do that and it tells me there is a new version available, and the choices are Ask later, No Thanks or Get the new version. I haven't gotten the new version; waiting to see what others say about it. mago this is what it says about dom inspector on the firefox site: DOM Inspector is a tool that can be used to inspect and edit the live DOM of any web document or XUL application. The DOM hierarchy can be navigated using a two-paned window that allows for a variety of different views on the document and all nodes within. Note: This add-on depends on binary changes to Firefox, and will not work with Firefox 2. I do not have it, never used it, so can not comment on it, if you do not use it then you can easily remove it. In fact I see you have ff 2 and it says that dom inspector does not work with ff 2??? There is a post some pages back that I had started called tips and tricks that thread has a lot of good info on ff ad ons and other useful stuff.

When I have uninstalled firefox before installing a newer version the bookmarks, history, etc. have stayed in the Mozilla folder. To be double safe you can export your bookmarks (bookmarks > organize bookmarks > import and backup) to a file in your My Documents folder before uninstalling. That way you can delete the folder after uninstalling if you need to do so to install an older version.

think I'd start with a ccleaner and check mark compact data base.... then by lookin at extensions/plugins/themes, start disabling/re-enabling something all three have in common.

probably lots of same slow page loads....

As I recall the 3.6.10 upgrade was only a couple of minor security fixes. If I am correct this should not slow up your operation.

Along the lines of Mikie, sometimes existing add-ons don't play well with a new upgrade. I would check them.

Thanks, it seems to be one or two of the add-ons. I wound up uninstalling them all and the pages are loading normally. When I have time I'll start putting one at a time back. I suspect NoScript as I've had trouble with that in the past.
