I need quick pictures please 2'' hex tile vs 1'' hex tile
Comments (4)I forget the exact measurements of mine, but I decided against using the smaller tile, because to my eye, they looked too small. Don't know where you are located, but I found the larger ones at Nemo Tile Co. in New York City. They have them in stock, in white and a few other colors, and you can pick them right up. I will say, however, that the smaller ones might be more historically accurate. In this particular bathroom, we were trying to stay true to the original bath, which did have hex tile, in the smaller size, but they were too broken up and too many pieces were missing for us to salvage. We also had to open up the whole floor anyway, so we had to replace. In looking for replacement tile, I just thought the larger ones looked better. Sorry this isn't a better picture of the tiles themselves, but perhaps the other shots might help you to decide. Good luck. Comments (11)This tiles are called Victorian Octagon with black dots. I grew up with them in my house in the 1970s and now one of my bathrooms - I live in a very old apartment building - still has the same type of tile! If I were renovating, I would not use this style, it is old-style and that means the rest of your bathroom would have to match, including the towel bars and hooks. I find this style outdated and I don't understand why anyone would want their bathroom to look old and outdated, unless you want the retro look, but then you would have to be a pretty darn good if not great designer which, gauging from the sound of your inquiry, you are not anywhere near a good designer. I say "Blah!" and "Yuck!" to these tiles, they remind me of my childhood days when the bathroom was only used for pee, poop, and accidental throw-up!...See MorePls vote: final pix & picks granite for creamy white kitchen
Comments (22)Thank you all for your feedback. I was really nervous but "bit the bullet" and purchased 4 slabs of the River yesterday. Had 24 to cancel and managed to get DH out to the yard to look at it today. He liked it ( b/c we'd never seen anything like it) but still favors the Typhoon Bordeaux I think. I think the River is gorgeous, but it does really change the tone of the kitchen. With a mass of white cabinets and that granite which is ivory with lots of lighter tone movement, it really does make the kitchen cool rather than warm. Perhaps in hot Florida that's a good thing? Gives it a cool serene fell I hope. On the otherhand, might it seem washed out? DH is now wondering if we should consider a dark stain on the cabinets in stead of painted creamy white as we'd always discussed. Does the granite now dictate? Thanks, in advance for further feedback....See MoreShow me your white cabinets with *tile* floors
Comments (26)Gsciencechick, I love the creamy off-white grout that goes so well with your cabinets. I love the blue tiles and the blue refrigerator! I love the white and blue theme! I forgot what paint color you used on your cabinets, could you refresh my memory since I am finally at the stage that I want to paint my cabinets or get new doors....See Morebluekitobsessed
