Bluestar Owners...come in!
Comments (40)I've had my Bluestar 36" RNB since 2006. The convection oven has died but I will replace it myself next month. Before I bought the range, I found this forum and lurked for months reading all the reviews and experiences. I decided to order my range without having seen it, just from the reviews it was getting, and the fact that it was the only range at the time to offer 22,000btu burners. I have not regretted my decision for even one second. I LOVE that i can stir-fry on high heat using a round bottom wok. I LOVE how many batches of cookies i can cram in the oven at once. I LOVE how easy the grates are to clean. i LOVE how many pots and pans i can get going at the same time. i LOVE the low tech nature of it--no motherboards to fry or replace, no fancy electronics to mess with (i use my microwave's electronics for timer). i will have to say i am a better cook using this range because it inspires me and delivers the food quality that satisfies me, my family and my friends. caveat : i am an unfussy person. all the ignitors click on sometimes when i am lighting one burner......and the convection oven motor burned out in year 3. but other than those issues, i've had no need to call customer service. and no, my grates have no signs of chipping anywhere, and believe me, they get banged on quite a bit....See MoreQuestion for Bluestar owners....?
Comments (7)I too love my griddle. Like mentioned above I use it all the time for a lot of different foods. I am a 'short order' b-fast cook on weekend mornings, that in itself would probably be enough but I use it at least every other day for something. 22k too much? Not hardly. Since I've been using it I find most of the time when using the 22k's I've got them on hi. I've not had veggies taste as good on lower heat and searing steaks in CI is awesome! My cooking has been x-formed by my new range and will only improve the more I use it. Just make sure your venting is up to it, I'm amazed at how much 'stuff' gets sucked up into the baffles (1200 cfm)....See MoreNew Bluestar RNB48 V1 owner
Comments (35)Hi Sitelifer, There are a lot of differences between these two units that cater to different styles and requirements. The best place to start is to ask yourself what you want from a range. I honestly don't believe there is a clear winner 100% of the time. If you want an internal rotisserie, your choice is obvious. If you want a french cook top, again, only one choice. Neither of these ranges covers the same set of requirements so see if you can weed it down by that. To answer your question, my understanding is that the broilers are different. The CC has better coverage while (I think) the BS broiler gets hotter. The BS broiler is hotter than Hades at high noon in August. They claim 1800 degrees and my infrared thermometer tops out at 1000 degrees which it hits instantly when pointed it at the broiler. I browned a 12" fritatta a few weeks ago. Had the pan about 10 inches from the broiler and the coverage was great. I wanted to roast the tomatoes that I had resting on top and that happened very nicely. If you are toasting a baking pan full of croutons expect to have to rotate the pan. I wanted high heat as opposed to maximum coverage. Coverage is something I can affect, the max temp is not. That's my personal preference. -Stooxie...See MoreQuestion for Cpovey, other BlueStar owners
Comments (8)Thank you, everyone, for your responses. I'm going to print this out to show whoever comes to fix the problem. They had the diagram and everything else they needed to do the installation properly. However, when my husband called yesterday to have the matter rectified was given an excuse as to why it was done the way it is versus the way it is supposed to be. This remodeling project cannot end soon enough. On a happier note, I am thismuchcloser to actually being able to use my range. And again my thanks for your assistance-- without all of you I never would have known about BlueStar, let alone be the proud owner of one now....See MoreUser
