I upload pictures to a folder on a friend's web server, and use the same html link to his folder, instead of a photo-hosting website. Claire over on the New England Gardening forum uses Tinypic. According to her, the advantage of TinyPic.com is that it's very easy to upload one photo and link to it, and you don't have to set up an account. The disadvantage is that you can only upload one photo at a time, which is not useful if you want to show many photos. Claire's instructions for using Tinypic.com: 1. The photo files on your computer must be in a format such as jpeg or jpg. 2. Using Tiny Pic, you hit the "Choose File" button and it searches your computer desktop. 3. Choose one then select a size ("Resize" button), and then UPLOAD NOW. 4. When the file is uploaded, copy the HTML tag, not the IMG tag. 5. Paste the HTML tag in your post. I hate to ask this, but if you have no idea of what to do with the space then why are you doing the renovation? Also, when working with large, open rooms the general idea is to partition the space into smaller units using furniture. Think groups of sofas, table and chairs, etc. You will need to choose furniture which looks good from all sides (which can be difficult with case goods). And you will need to place some plugs out in the middle of the floor. Regarding books or websites, try your local library - look for books about loft interiors. Good luck! Paul

Renovxpt asked how to explain this to a homeowner. I assume the H/O inherited this with the house. The first things I would do: 1) Clean out the weeds. 2) label everything with my P-Touch. This may require a blower to identify the lines. Use UV resistant label tape. Then give the H/O a pool school lesson. A basic description of the parts of the pool, mechanics of operation and chems. Give him this website and TFPs. I am guessing but it looks like he has a large pool with a few water features such as a waterfall, sheer decents and deck jets and an attached spa. The spa or another water feature has a booster pump. Some of that gear is a bit long in the tooth. Does it all work? I don't see a slab under anything. Are there any? You might suggest extending the B/W line to behind the heater so the hose isn't taking foot space where it can be tripped on. The RayVac Energy Kit needs a bottle and filter. I count 5 skimmers. Is this pool 2000 sq. feet? Thats a lot to ask of a single residential pool pump. If it is, the RayVac needs a booster too. Scott
