OKgrassguy, it is a mixed blessing on the farm. For the most part just what the doctor ordered. After two full years of no rain and triple digit heat for 5-months a year, it is a big turn around. So far only a single 90 degree day in N TX this year PeopleÂs water wells are now pumping water again, my stock ponds and reservoirs (everyone else too) are finally full from yesterdays rains. Corn is the tallest and healthiest I have ever witnessed around here (usually burnt to a crisp by now), and everything is green. With corn prices so high from ethanol pressure, it is going to be a stellar year for corn farmers this year. On the flip side, I have quite a bit of sod production areas under water from time-to-time around the creek beds. However with the floods comes free top soil evenly distributed with no labor cost. Lots of delays in harvesting sod waiting for what can be harvested to dry out enough to get the equipment in. Fortunately I have sandy loam, so it only takes a day or two of dry weather to dry things out. I have lost several acres of sod from being drowned, but not a devastating loss. The rest is so productive it makes up for it and provides a seed crop to replant the drowned areas later. Landscaping biz (my SonÂs biz) is good, just a lot of down days. However irrigation side is non existent. Only real complaint is tomato and pepper plants are suffering. Their feet are too wet and not enough sun to put fruit on. If it dries up a bit with some sunshine they should recover if the heat doesnÂt jump above 100. Anyway glad the usual summer high pressure ridge moved out of here this year and now someone else has to deal with heat and drought that it brings.

If the fan was not running while the engine was running, it will not run immediately following engine shut down. The electric cooling fan is controlled by a temperature sensor. When the temperature sensor trips, a relay is turned on to power the fan. If the coolant does not get hot enough to trip the sensor, the fan will not run. On many cars, the fan is shut off when the ignition is shut down, however, some cars and I believe that Honda is one, the fan circuit is electrically hot at all times and the fan will run so long as the temperature sensor calls for it, thus, the fan runs for a period after engine shut-off (provided it was running at engine shut-down). If all was working well, the coolant was not hot enough to warrant a fan when you shut down. However, what you should be concerned with is, "Does the fan run when it should? Is the temperature sensor and fan circuit working?" If you car has a temperaure gage, it can be helpful while diagnosing this system. The other question becomes, "Is the thermostat working, or is it stuck open or missing?" If you are uncomfortable in running a test with the car at rest with the radiator covered, then it is best that you take your concerns to a local shop that you trust.

Owbist, I am using the MSE (MS security essentials) anti virus program... the machine (OS) is a vista, but I think MSE turns off the defender program which I believe is ( or was ) the firewall I could be wrong. Does anyone know for sure that there is a firewall up and running with the MSE in place ? Damccoy, I sorta know that certain sites can be a problem ..my concern is to have something in place to at least give me an edge for protection, I can self govern myself. And I do a scan for malware etc at least once a week. My question is do I have a firewall in place now even if I run MSE ???

LOL, I know THAT kind of bungalow. The problem seems to have corrected itself. The red shield is no longer there. I wonder if takes until the next scheduled scan, or something, until they are in sync. I'll try to pay close attention next time. nearandwest, I'm not sure when I last ran a full scan. Maybe I'll do that tonight.
