Call me paranoid, but I worry, too, about keyloggers grabbing my passwords. I didn't know about KeyScrambler until you mentioned it, but I did a little research about it and it looks pretty good to me. I use a different, free program to thwart keyloggers, and it involves "typing" on an on-screen keyboard with your mouse, so the actual keyboard is not involved at all...hence nothing for a keylogger to catch. Further, mouselogging malware can't monitor what you are doing based on the mouses's screen location because, each time you open it, the on-screen keyboard is a different size and in a different place on the screen. It can also do things like scramble the on-screen keyboard, enter strokes by hovering the mouse rather than by clicking, etc. At any rate, it has enough features to satisfy my paranoia. Although it's a little slower "typing" with a mouse than an actual keyboard, I just use it for logging in to sites, not for typing novels, so it's no big deal.

Interesting. Thanks for the link. :-) You're right, though. It wouldn't do for my "novelettes" that I write to my friends via webmail. ;-)

But it would be useful during logins, as you say. However, right now for password storage & entry I'm using "LastPass," so I don't know if Neo Safekeys would be necessary for me (or incompatible with LastPass). (For all I know it would be better.)

Safekeys would be useful for entering a password for the first time into a field. :-) I'll need to read the information on it a bit more deeply later to find out how the onscreen keyboard differs from the one installed in Windows.

I let FF save all my passwords. No using the keys at all. I have it set to use a master password.

Yes, I sometimes let my browser do the password keeping (if it's not for an important site), but then I would still be interested in possibly having a scrambler for other sites, like maybe a site where I might be buying something and need to enter address and CC information. Even though the site might be secure, perhaps the added layer of security would be worth it. I don't know. I'm still looking into it.

And I did notice that some of the comments on the KeyScrambler FF add-on were not good. (Some disagreement there.) That's something I'll have to read more about, too. ;-)

I've used Keyscrambler for a long time. IE my main use.. but it seems ok in firefox and the nice Chrome browser too.

Can't say that for sure it truly 100% keeps you safe. but its pretty simple little thing to use and hopeully does what it says just fine.

The main thing I'm seeing (from a negative perspective) in the reviews of the FF add-on is the concern about it being itself a keylogger (and a third-party extension). It's apparently installed at a level that allows it to know everything you type (in order to scramble it) and some wonder whether the person(s) who created it can be trusted with whatever information it gathers. ???

There's some disagreement as to whether it includes a lot of adware/nagware promoting the premium version.

Thanks for the info and you are right about putting in your address when shopping. I do a lot of shopping on line. I wonder if there is a special scan to check for keyloggers? I know the regular scans don't pick them up.

Zero adware/nagware .. seen nuffin in long time use.
Occasionally do netstat exe peeks .. never seen it.

I've also had KeyScrambler on my computer for a long time, and, as Mikie said, Ive never received and adware/nagware either.
