Grohe Thermostatic Shower Valve

Where can I get operating instructions for adjusting this valve? Cannot find instructions on the Grohe America web site.

This is a brand new installation, and the first time I tried it the water is barely tepid with the valver turned all the way up. I cannot figure out how to adjust it.

I believe there is an adjustment under the plate that you use an allen wrench on, but am not sure how to (a) remove the trim plate, and (b) do the adjustment.

Would appreciate any help.

Funny, we had exactly the same issue, plumber left the water barely tepid. We have the Grohe Geneva; I'm not sure whether all operate the same way. Anyway, if you are still looking for help we could scan in our instructions and email them to you. Or I can try to type in what we did if you'd prefer. Email me through my page here on GardenWeb.

A picture is attached that shows the installation of a Grohe universal rough-in for a custom shower thermostatic trim with control module and 2 rough-in valves for volume control valves. The shower will have a fixed shower head and a handheld on the wall that is opposite to the one where the controls are installed. Because of the tight space and the lack of detailed instructions supplied by Grohe, installation was difficult. Does the installation shown in the picture look correct? Thanks

Also have the grohe. I was talked into the thermostatic by the sales person. It's okay, but I could have lived without it. She described it as a must have, but I honestly don't see the big whoopee. Also, I found I couldn't get really cold water or super hot water out of my faucet once it was installed. Maybe this was an installation error, but we like freezing showers in the summer and super hot baths in winter.

I have the Hansgrohe trim, and after a year and a half, it has been fine. I rarely clean with a product, but wipe it dry daily after any shower with a soft cloth. It has remained spotless and perfect. I do have the Citterio porter to hold my handheld. It is all brass and chrome finish. I had read reports of the plastic ones failing.

It's easier to start with a sales site such as build.com or decorplanet.com which will allow you to search for products that meet your specifications (e.g., shower faucets with thermostatic valve type) across multiple brands. Spec sheets, installation instructions, and some reviews are also there. Once you've selected candidates, also look at the reviews on Amazon and Home Depot. (The Hansgrohe website is complete but not particularly user-friendly.)

This is interesting. We've been showing with our valve about4 months. Both of us commented its not as warm but thought we were crazy. We had the tile guy over to work on a spot in the shower so we've been showering in the other bathroom. Its amazing how hot that water is. So I guess we need to have ours adjusted also, we just thought it was us.
