Keystroke combo -- what am I doing??

I keep having the problem of having the words I am typing suddenly jump up a few lines in the document. I know I am inadvertantly hitting some combination of keystrokes, but I can't figure out what it is. It definitely involves the letter t.

I'll be typing along and suddenly I am in the middle of the previous paragraph rather than continuing in the sentence I am writing. I hope I'm making this clear.

Sometimes when I am writing a message in Outlook, I hit something that sends the email before I am ready.

Whatever could I be doing? Thanks for your help.

Your inadvertently hitting some combination of keystrokes.

Very difficult problem to resolve unless we could see, not sure what advice to give.

Is this on a laptop? Many laptops have touchpads and some touchpads can be a little sensitive.

I don't get it, Chaz... I'm blonde and slow! Duh... explain it slowly, please. Skip-Bo sounds like fun, and Uno has always been a blast! The ex and I played with another couple in the complex when we lived West Chicago. Uno nights always included plenty of booze! What a riot! As kids, my Dad taught us to play War, Poker and BlackJack... and they played Pinochle, and a card game called Donkey with their adult friends. Bozo the Clown... and Ringmaster Ned, and the original Cookie the Clown! Watched it every day! Even went there once and was part of the audience! Egads, I'm old!

katybug, you mentioned you don't want it to look bad, so from reading what you are saying, I would much rather take the time and do it right than have to look at a room or wall all the time and never be satisfied because I was in a hurry . If you have knicks, gouges, scrapes, etc. the best thing to do of course is to mud it out; or even if you are going to do a finish with joint compound you are still doing work (unless you want a textured finish). So either way, there is going to need to be work from either way you choose. Just throwing out some of the possibles. Just doing a decorative finish over your wall imperfections with paint is not going to take care of the walls condition, unless you take some other kind of steps to correct what you have mentioned above. One thing for sure after I removed all that paper, I surely wouldn't put anymore up. :)

Hello! We have a beautiful Swing model Sofa/murphy bed combination by Clei from Resource Furniture. It has been an absolute blessing/godsend in our mid-size apt to give my visiting stepdaughter a real room when she visits. Really has been completely perfect. But now what!?? We are moving out of our apt and 2,000 miles away from NY to a log cabin in the black hills in South Dakota. Clearly this won't go anywhere there, and the buyers of our apt don't want it. Does anyone have any creative solutions for me? The manufacturer has no interest, and I can't find any takers on craigslist or ebay because it needs knowledgeable installation/delivery. I'd certainly welcome any thoughts at all :-)

I have to wear supportive footwear due to arthritis in my feet. I never go barefoot. Well, maybe for a few steps on the beach. Anyway, I live on a farm with lots of animals (and don’t have severe diarrhea despite the bacteria). I have farm shoes in the mud room, so change my footwear to do chores. But if either my husband or I are working outside and need to dash into the kitchen for a drink, we do so without removing shoes. It’s a tile floor that gets quick mopped a couple times a week (swiffer wet is awesome for this task). The whole “no shoes in the house” is just silly, as is the habit of allowing pets on the furniture and in beds. WRT the original question, dogs are much easier to train than men, so decide whether or not you are going to trade your relationship for a couple of pillows. Which do you value more?

That happens to me all the time! I'm hitting the touchpad. Annoying, isn't it? I just deactivate the touchpad and use a mouse instead.

I never thought of the touchpad. Yes, I am using a laptop. I prefer the touchpad to the mouse, in general, although this one occasionally gives me fits, especially the slider on the right of the pad.

I will pay more attention to that. The only thing I know for sure is that is ALWAYS happens after typing the letter t. Not every time, but when it does happen, it follows typing a t.

Thanks for the suggestion of the touchpad. I am kind of a sloppy typist. I let my hands kind of brush across the keyboard rather than typing crisply.

Dedtired, try changing the frequency of the 'autosave' feature on your word processor. Usually Tools/Options will give you access to changing it. That way you only lose the last 3 or 4 minutes.

It will not cure the problem but it will stop you from having to start over from scratch perhaps.

I'm a sloppy typist like you, and the only thing that worked for me was disabling the touchpad. Do you know how to do that? You may have a couple of options. I've got mine set up so that whenever a mouse is plugged in, the touchpad is automatically disabled...but comes back to life when the mouse is removed.

I think I can figure out how to disable the touchpad, but then I will have to get used to not using it. In general, I prefer it over the mouse. Would you believe I inadvertently sent two emails today? Both were half typed when whoosh, off they went. On both of them the last letter typed was t.

Very very strange.

It sounds like you need to weigh the benefits of the touch pad against the benefits of no touch pad.
