I use noscript, adblock and adblock filter set G, as well as IE tab (very, very rarely use it but it's handy when needed) and the FireFox Google toolbar. I have browster but sometimes it's annoying and I really have my doubts if it's any faster than loading a page. I never get flash ads, so there is no need for something like Remove it Permanently, although it's possible I have flash turned off. I also have Fasterfox. Is it? I have no idea. There are way, way too many add-ons for FireFox. I just use the bare minimum of extensions to make browsing less annoying.

"Can it be that a web site can control/override my setting of spell check in my browser?" I'd noticed spell-check not working on some sites too, but hadn't investigated. As it turns out, they can turn spell-check off, at least in a specific HTML element. Why would a site would want to do that? I don't know, perhaps just to make me feel dumb. Just kidding. :) Spell-check on in this box: Spell-check off in this box: http://www.w3schools.com/tags/att_global_spellcheck.asp

Ginny, AutoHotKey is a small, easy to learn, free programme that will do exactly what you require and much much more! You can simply edit one of the example files using Notepad and change it to suit your needs. If you make a mistake nothing gets harmed - just keep trying until it does what you want. It is even easier to use if you read the help file first because it explains everything in simple terms! I have made a file for you that starts Firefox and Word at the same time when you press WinKey and q together. Just open Notepad and copy and paste the following few lines into it and save the file as "win q.ahk" (without the quotes). It works when you press the WinKey and q together. (You can edit the file and choose any key you prefer later.) *** copy and paste the next lines *** ; win+q Start Firefox and Word when you press WinKey and q together #q:: Run c:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\Firefox.exe Run c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Winword.exe *** don't copy this line *** Make sure you don't miss the semicolon on the first line. Many people on here definitely write that word as "definately". Cemetery becomes "cemetary". But the one that troubles me is that many use "loose" for when they can't find something, rather than for a belt that's too long and lacks enough holes (or "loose" change). I say that when I "lose" something, I can't find it. I got on some people's case here a while ago about "weird", talking of "i" before "e", except after "c", except in such cases as "neighbour" or "weigh" ... and had to eat humble pie, for that latter list, weirdly, includes "weird", as well! (As for "neighbour" ... Canadians spell funny [i.e. peculiarly], as well). I think that there are a couple of others that are sort of my pet peeves, a;so ... but can't think of them at the moment, so I guess I'm not all bent out of shape over it! I have a hard time keyboarding the letters in correct sequence, too often getting two (sometimes more) in reverse sequence. It seems to me that we should give our children the example of doing things correctly and being precise, when possible. They should set their vision on excellence, for they are in global competition, these days, which is getting more intense. Those who figure that good enough will do ...will get left in the dust, I think. I don't have grandkids, and I am not exactly unhappy about that, for I think that life will be a great deal more difficult for people in our part of the world, within a generation. Our rich guys (mostly "guys") are getting really rich, and the numbers of the poor are expanding as the middle class gets hollowed out. Look at South America a generation ago ... and still, to a point. The means of production, of producing wealth, held in the hands of a few ... with millions of peons. End of rant. I hope that you're all enjoying this lovely spring weekend ... landlord says that we needed the heavy rains that we got last night and today. ole joyful
