Wolf vs GE Monogram Ranges
Comments (2)I have ruled out your choices and have been looking at the real commercial guys: American, Bluestar, Capital and DCS. The Capital has been the most impressive and I was quite suprised waht you get for the price. Decision making time is near and am hoping for any comments from Capital owners, preferably those that have their InfraQ grill. Any comments......See MoreCapital Culinarian vs GE Cafe? Comments (9)Interesting - more comments than I expected lean toward the Cafe. The precise oven temperature control is something I hadn't factored in. Our previous (electric) range had digital controls and I'm so used to having them I didn't even think about the fact the CC would mean reverting to the analog oven control, so good point. I know the CC excels in many respects, but since we don't have the luxury of separate wall ovens here I think our range needs to be more of a Jack-of-all-trades. The Cafe seems to fit that bill better for our situation so that's the way I'm going to go. Yes it does looks like a hell of a range, and there actually aren't any cheaper ones that offer such high powered burners and comparable feature set. The Cafe seems to be in a class of its own bridging the gap between typical consumer models and the higher end pro-style ones. The nice thing about a freestanding range is it's easy to swap out, so if I hate it, it's no big deal to change it later. Comments (7)Sorry but the 2011 GE Monogram DF 36" with griddle is sadly part of the total GE Monogram total package we bought for our kitchen...grease fire because of grease draining under griddle accumulating by flames. Photos I sent to GE Monogram case worker Dawn said "the engineer said this amount of grease is normal and safe." Seriously?!? I'm not even going into the problem with too hot to touch wall oven door & second repair to refrigerated side of 48" side by side that ranges between 22-27 degrees thus freezing contents. GE repair tech said "too bad you bought 2011 & not 2012 because the newer ones are made in US not China like yours. " nice, huh?!?...See MoreBluestar platinum vs Capital Culinarian
Comments (56)Hi Everyone, We are upgrading our kitchen and I am interested in. 48 inch open burner stove. I am trying to decide between blue star and capital. I am wondering about evenness of the burners. I currently have a midrange GE stove and I cannot stand it because the burners heat unevenly. The rear half of the front left burner is significantly hotter than the front half. Is there a significant advantage to the star shaped burner vs capitals round burners with respect to evenness? I am also interested in how easy it is to control burner output. By this I mean how gradual are the burner attenuators programmed. On my current stove basically most of the control between high and low is actually between 2 and 3. From 3 to high there is not that much change in heat output. Also how low are all of the burners able to go. Any time I need to cook something on low do I have to move it to the summer burner or do all the burners get quite low? Last question is about how powerful is the griddle on the capital stove and do you find it particularly useful? Thank you in advance for any insight you can provide....See Moremamacotti
