In Firefox: Click 'Bookmarks' > 'Organize Bookmarks' > 'Import and Backup' > 'Import HTML'. Select 'Microsoft Internet Explorer' then click 'Next'.

Gottem bob, NOW, how do I get them organized, I am trying to find a tutorial for FF, don't get much but Greek, and am sure having a ruff time figuring out how to get them , the new bookmarks I am always adding; organized and into the folders I currently have imported from IE.
Why is something so simple? is it? so hard to understand?

I gave up trying to organize bookmarks in the organize bookmarks screen. You can create folders then drag and drop the bookmarks into folders and drag them up and down in the list but after trying the bookmarks toolbar I love it use it for most of my bookmarks. The bookmarks toolbar is right under the address bar. If you don't see it right click on an empty spot on the top toolbar (the one with File, Edit, View, etc. on it) and click on bookmarks toolbar to put a check in front of it then you will see it. You can click on the little icon in front of the http: part of the URL (address) and drag it onto the toolbar. This puts a bookmark on the toolbar. I put folders on the toolbar and drag the bookmarks into the folders - for instance I have a 'Gardenweb' folder and bookmarks for all the forums I visit in the folder. Click on the folder and you get a drop down list of the bookmarks in that folder. I give the folders short names so they don't take up as much space on the toolbar. I also right click on the bookmarks and click on properties and you can rename them. If the toolbar gets full you will see a chevron on the right end. If you click on it you will see the rest of the bookmarks you have put there.

Can you import AOL Bookmarks(favorites) into FF?

I have no knowledge of AOL but it is usual to be able to export the favorites as a html file. You can then import that file into Firefox using the same steps I gave Shaddy above except the last step would be 'Import html from file'. Just remember where you export the file to so you can navigate to it so that you can import it into Firefox.

one of my most used and favorite firefox addons is the add bookmark here one, once you have that add on you can be on any site and decide you want to save that site to one of your bookmark folders simply go to your bookmarks tab at top open that and go to the folder you want the site to be bookmarked into, right click on the folder and a new option add bookmark here is available just click that and the box opens with the bookmark info just hit the add button to add it to that folder.

another of my all time fave addons is xmarks which is a back up for your bookmarks, and it will syncronize your bookmarks between computes if you have more than one computer so that any time you add a new bookmark using one pc the other pc or laptop will automatically have it added to their bookmark list too. You can never loose your bookmarks either if you have xmarks because they are always stored online at your xmarks site.

Thanks raven, and bob for your help in this matter, will have to take some time, and go over the info, one other thing, while I am on a roll here, am used to the "page" function in IE, where I can send messages to myself, or anyone with a dropdown menu, is there such a feature in FF?
