I searched the web for pictures of what you are describing too and didn't find any. However, I think what you are planning to do will work, especially because you have stained trim elsewhere in the room. Suggestion- pick up some beadboard paneling, and cut it to size. Prop it u pon top of your baseboard and then snap a photo. Attach the photo to this thread so that folks can get a visualization of your idea.

The beach condo has a big LR/kitchen great room. I painted the kitchen cabinets SW Shell White. Walls will be SW Amazing Gray eventually. My BR will be SW Amazing Gray, sis's BR will be SW Mindful Gray. My bathroom will be either SW Jetstream or SW Agua Fria; haven't decided on sis's bathroom yet. Next on the list is painting all the doors, baseboards and trim (door & window). Walls will wait until I have more time than just weekends to paint. In the LR/kitchen area, do I paint the doors/trim/baseboards the same Shell White, or can I choose a different white? The baseboards do run right up to the edge of the cabinets (left and right sides of the kitchen opening) if that matters. I was really wanting to use the same color on all the doors/trim/baseboards if possible so i can save $$ by getting a 5 gallon bucket.

My one regret with the black island is that I chose a shaker door without a bevel. Those little corners are hard to clean and the black shows everything! If I could do it over I would still do a black island but it would be a stained wood, painted black and then distressed. That way any nicks and bumps show wood and not a white chip. We are considering changing that down the road.

You have options! Painting all of your base and case the same color or splitting the finishing between contrasting colors would would be the recommendations. In this case, with the window casing being white, the contrasting option would be black or a charcoal color. While painting the trim two different shade of white could prove effective, painting the window casing one shade of white and the baseboards another shade of white might read as a design mistake or an afterthought in areas where the two finishes meet or immediately adjacent to one another.
