You want white walls. There are lots of whites (as you know) which will be influenced by the natural light coming into the kitchen..so from where is that light coming?

Simply White is my favorite white of all time. Warm enough to be inviting and work in a room without full sun. For what it’s worth in an old condo I did cabinets in Simply White, walls in Simply White, and built ins in Simply White. It worked.

@pattyk_64 hi patty! Any pictures of finished product? I’m doing simply white uppers, black lowers, have light “white oak” vinyls...considering simply white on walls as well, also have western facing kitchen, hoping to see your finished product! Did simply white turn out warm enough but not too yellow?

Thanks Theresa! Yes, simply white everywhere, walls, trim and ceiling. The trim is in a semi gloss not exactly sure the name of the finish on the rest, satin or something like that.

My one regret with the black island is that I chose a shaker door without a bevel. Those little corners are hard to clean and the black shows everything! If I could do it over I would still do a black island but it would be a stained wood, painted black and then distressed. That way any nicks and bumps show wood and not a white chip. We are considering changing that down the road.

Not sure. It was just a standard black from the local cabinet company we used.
