Firefox Question

I should be able to figure this one out but need some help. I use Firefox almost exclusively. When I want to bookmark a page,I click on bookmarks,then "bookmark this page" and then "create in bookmarks" whereby a list drops down of folders I have created. Here's the problem. Only 5 of those drop down,leaving several off the list and I can never access those last few unless I click on manage bookmarks. But that doesn't allow me to add a site,just access the sites I've already added in the past. What am I not seeing?

Me me...I know that one!

Beside the drop down box, and to the 'right' of it, there is another 'down' arrow. It will show all of them, or even let you make a new folder....at the bottom. Only the most recently used folders will 'show' in the box.

I had never noticed that down arrow, chemocurl. I may explore it.

I have always, even before Firefox, created a "links to be resorted" folder and put all new bookmarks there first. Then do the manage bookmarks later. I delete a lot of them doing it this way and don't have so many 'Now what the bleep is this?' is my bookmarks.

Normally Yahoo sets the browser page code width 100%, used to be 88%. That news front page is set a fixed width now 793 pixels. news.yahoo will show that width in anything a person might decide to view it with. Probably somebody screwed up because they could put advertising there,,, wasted space doesn't cost them anything but would think they would want to capitalize on it. ... maybe sidebar advertizements will fill it up later today.

that is NOT the same as easylist and easyprivacy. they are both right there at the link provided in zep's post. Here it is just scroll to the 2 yellow lines and on the far right click on the add to ABP to add it to your ad block plus EasyList Subscriptions to get the latest dev build of adblock plus which seems not to have those issues go to this link and select the one titled 00latest.xpi which should be the 3rd line Index of /devbuilds/adblockplus/ after installing it in your firefox you need to restart firefox to activate it then get the subscriptions. you should be able to install that one then once you have that adblock plus installed go to that link I gave you for the easylist and easyprivacy and add those to it.

yes agree sounds like a bad download,my question where are you downloading it from? Try directly from firefox site, just delete the old one and re-download. Here is a link that might be useful: firefox download

When I click on the down arrow it doesn't do anything except let me create a new folder. I can do all kinds of things on my computer and even crawl around on the inside of it and almost get it to make my morning coffee. Why in the heck can't I do something like make a bookmark????? Makes me want to go back to IE and do it there..

mwoods, is this the arrow you're clicking?

If so, I don't understand why it doesn't work for you. I have quite a few folders for bookmarks and they always all show when I click that arrow. It's never let me make a new folder.

I have a problem with bookmarking also and opening certain things in IE. I know there is a way, I just haven't found it.

How it works with my Firefox 1.5.0.12

The page you are wanting to bookmark should be in the new folder, which will be at the very bottom of your bookmark listing. I always right click on the newest folder and "sort by name". Then it is up with the other folders....
