Computer humor

How do I get my computer's coffee cup holder to come out again?" and other strange tech support requests.

If you ask people about tech support at their job, they may paint a picture of clueless help desk representatives who never seem to understand what they're saying and don't seem to offer any advice besides "reboot your system." But the incompetence goes both ways.

In a new survey by Robert Half Technology, an IT consulting firm, more than 1,400 chief information officers revealed the most unusual requests they or their staff had received from people needing tech support.

Here are some of the funnier requests reported in the survey:

* "Can you rearrange the keyboard alphabetically?"

* "My computer is telling me to press any key to continue. Where is the 'any' key?"

* "There are animal crackers in my CD-ROM drive."

* "I'd like to stop receiving e-mail on Fridays."

* "Can you fix my typewriter?"

* "Can I open the bank safe using my computer?"

* "Can you build me a robot?"

If you work in IT and have some funny requests of your own to share, post a comment.
