Event Viewer after BSOD, what does it mean?

First, system info:

Event viewer, not sure what all ya need so will give today's problem first. I have been getting the BSOD periodically, lately it is happening more and more. Just this morning, yesterday while not doing a thing, laptop just sitting there while I was writing checks, looked over at it and the BSOD was there, I can only catch part of the error FLT___ (I think the rest is MGR, but not sure), leaves this screen and goes the screen for choice of starting Windows in safe mode and so on.

Here is today's event viewer report: (there are many, many entries that I was not even aware of, going back several months!) What does this mean

Forgot to mention I have run McAfee, Superantispyware, Malware Bytes and other than Adware nothing else has been detected. I run these scans every couple of days and keep them updated. I know I could call tech support at Dell as this thing is under warranty, but ya'll speak in terms I can understand so I came here first!

If the computer is automatically rebooting after the blue screen we will need to stop it from doing that so we can read the blue screen error, please see the link for instructions for doing that on Vista, then when the unit blue screens again you will be able to read the entire error and please post it here it may be more helpful then the event viewer information.

A blue screen error means Windows has stopped working this error can point to many things, a driver problem, a hardware problem, ram and even a windows update, please make a note of any changes you have made recently if any, that would include anything you downloaded, or any hardware you may have added, printer ect.

Most importantly get the entire error from the blue screen to us.

You don't use a phone line for your connection, do you Jane? Is it possible that you disabled or removed your computer's internal modem? In my Win XP Home SP3 system, both services are Started but set to manual. I do not use a phone line to connect, so have no use for my internal fax/modem. A little trick for looking at and changing services, is to double click on a service (like Remote Access Connection manager) then you can view the Properties. Now look at the dependencies tab. Each service that has to be Started for this service to run will be listed here. You can quickly check the individual service for it's state, by simply looking across the line that is listed. Start them by double clicking on them and looking at the General tab. There will be a button about 2/3 down the page where you can select Start. Just in case you don't know how to find services, you click on Control Panel and then Administrative Tools. Services will be there. Pam

Well, the BSOD said what was wrong. Nobody could translate that information when you did not post those numbers. Further useful facts in the system (event) logs has now been destroyed by a nuke'n'pave. You have fixed many perfectly good things using hardware that was questionable. So now the problem is exponentially complicated. Learn from the experience. You fixed things without first learning what was defective. Destroyed or withheld information that could have identified that defect. And may now have multiple failures. The problems has been made exponentially more complex. I could walk you through the recovery process. But it will be long due to so many unnecessary changes and now so many other questionable items. Recovery means changes only after a defect is identified. The BSOD said what is defective. Post that information if still available. Get whatever is found in the new system logs. And buy or borrow a multimeter. Also learn this. Better computer manufacturers provide comprehensive hardware diagnostics for free on the hard drive, on a CD-rom, and on their web site. All manufacturers have them. But only the better manufacturers provide them. Your problem is why diagnostics exist and are so useful. To see the defect immediately. Because they cut costs (did not provide diagnostics), then notice how confused you have become. Another useful fact for when you next buy a new computer.

Lots of things can cause that stop error memory problem is one, a video driver is another, your Anti virus software could also cause this, sometimes this stop error occurs after installing service pact2 for xp and a Trojan can cause it so you see it is not always easy to narrow down and quite a bit of trouble shooting is sometimes required, If the unit is under warranty I would take it in, if not you can do some trouble shooting starting with a virus or malware scan please run Malwarebytes in the link below it is important you post a log from malwarebytes in your next reply. Could you answer these questions please: What operating system are you using xp service2 or 3? and or vista service pack1. Please tell me the name of your Anti Virus program that you use, Norton, McAffee, AVG, Avast or something else. Please answer the questions and post a log from Malwarebytes Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop. * Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program. * At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish. * If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. * Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan. * When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results. * Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. * When completed, a log will open in Notepad. I was discussing this thread with my 80 yo Mum. She said back in the day people knew enough to response and it was on their own stationary. She was shocked the first time she received an invitation with a response card. Seemed like a slap in the face, like she wouldn't know enough to rsvp. But nowadays, it's hard to get anyone to rsvp to anything. So whatever works - email, response card, smoke signal. I do use the response card but always add my own handwritten comment. The handwritten notes & rsvp cards with comments were such a treat to open when I got married so I always pay it forward, so to speak. Some brides probably thing "whatever, how many will be attending?". I don't think of myself as very sentimental but I did save a few wedding invitations that I found special for various reasons. It still makes me happy to see them when I come across them. It seems sad to think that by the time my 4 yo niece will be marrying I might be informed by text.

If you double click on each of those error messages it will bring another page with a slightly better description of the problem plus a link for further reading. Do the top error first the you can use the down arrow in the new window to visit each error and warning, just makes life a little easier.

Followed link and will let you know what error message there is next time it happens.
I have not added any new hardware nor have I downloaded anything new recently, but if I am reading that log correctly this has been going on for a while. I do know of several times but there are times I have to leave the laptop to take care of other things and I am guessing it has happened more than I knew about. as owbist said you need to click on each of those event log entries to open the info about them in there you will see also an event ID number those are important and can be looked up on google. Using that info plus the error message hopefully we can figure out what is causing it to happen.
you could also go into device manager and see if there happen to be any yellow exclamation conflict symbols in front of any of the entries which would indicate conflicts.

These are the latest 6 warning and or errors for today, there are many more but I know you don't want them all posted here. This is all greek to me, other than something is wrong. There are at least 27 more starting from this morning when I got the BSOD.

With this many error messages you should check to see if it is still under warranty.

If you wish to try this first then run System File checker (SFC). The link below spells out how in Vista. This is the same in all flavours of Windows and it will go through checking all the Windows files for corrupt or missing files. Be sure to leave a space between sfc and the forward slash /no other spaces though. You will no doubt need the Vista DVD.

I agree with owbist if you have a pc that is throwing off multiple event log entries and BSOD that is still under warranty it is time to call them. It will only get worse so take care of it while you can under warranty. You should not have to be dealing with that on a new pc.

That probably is the way to go even with the Blue Screen Error (Stop error) it still becomes a guessing game.
