Event Viewer after BSOD, what does it mean?

First, system info:

Event viewer, not sure what all ya need so will give today's problem first. I have been getting the BSOD periodically, lately it is happening more and more. Just this morning, yesterday while not doing a thing, laptop just sitting there while I was writing checks, looked over at it and the BSOD was there, I can only catch part of the error FLT___ (I think the rest is MGR, but not sure), leaves this screen and goes the screen for choice of starting Windows in safe mode and so on.

Here is today's event viewer report: (there are many, many entries that I was not even aware of, going back several months!) What does this mean

Forgot to mention I have run McAfee, Superantispyware, Malware Bytes and other than Adware nothing else has been detected. I run these scans every couple of days and keep them updated. I know I could call tech support at Dell as this thing is under warranty, but ya'll speak in terms I can understand so I came here first!

If the computer is automatically rebooting after the blue screen we will need to stop it from doing that so we can read the blue screen error, please see the link for instructions for doing that on Vista, then when the unit blue screens again you will be able to read the entire error and please post it here it may be more helpful then the event viewer information.

A blue screen error means Windows has stopped working this error can point to many things, a driver problem, a hardware problem, ram and even a windows update, please make a note of any changes you have made recently if any, that would include anything you downloaded, or any hardware you may have added, printer ect.

Most importantly get the entire error from the blue screen to us.

Hi dana gardener - I am wondering, what do you want to do? Do you really want to go or do you feel that it is an obligation? Even if it is an obligation it doesn't matter as long as you strongly desire to be there for someone you Love and want to support and share in the person's special day. This is what counts. However, if you cannot afford this trip with all the expenses involved, even if you want to be there, then I would express that in a note to the Bride with a gift that you can afford. No one should feel "forced" to attend when it will be so costly to do so. You may feel bad for not going if you truly desire to share in this Blessed event but you should also feel free and not guilty if you decide not to go because of the financial, emotional, etc. stress that it will cause you. No matter what decision you make it is your right to do so whether you go or not.

Well, today is going much better. (Of course I am probably jinxing myself.) I went to the library and spoke to a few acquaintances who all remembered me and none of whom told me I had ratty hair or pimples. The Kindle Fire session went more smoothly, thanks to Frances I think I have figured out a thing or two or three. I think the problem is just plain old slowness. What I took for nonresponse is just plain slowness. I need to wait...wait...wait...wait a little more...voila! Being used to lightning fast responses on my work and home computers, I have become spoiled. It's not that bad, but it is definitely slow. And my two Kindles work differently - my old Kindle can receive books just about anywhere but my new Kindle Fire can only receive books if it has a wireless connection. Except for library books, which are a whole different animal. Yes, it is a learning experience. Anyway, I am tired of Christmas, not the spiritual beautiful part, but the I-don't-have-time-to-be-nice-to-you-because-I-have-better-things-to-do part. I will be glad when the holidays are over and my friends don't hang up on me because they are busy and stressed. I don't have the busy stressed part, because I pretty deliberately eliminated it quite some time ago. For instance, we don't exchange gifts in my family as a general rule. We all agreed quite some time ago that we all have too much stuff. But today is beautiful. It is snowing lightly and looks gorgeous. I'm so happy to have some snow that does not come part and parcel with a huge and ferocious storm. This is lightly falling, moderate temp, no wind, only half-an-inch expected snow. And yes, this is all tongue-in-cheek, I'm hope I have generated a bit of laughter!

You have a nice house with curb appeal. Your job is to make the house look like something people want to buy, and I think you need to work on making it seem more spacious. People buy space when they buy a house. Wallpaper makes a room look smaller, and I could not believe how true this was till we removed our wallpaper in a redecorating job. The rooms looked so much bigger without wallpaper. I also think you should go neutral with the paint when you repaint the walls and use the same wall colors in rooms that look into each other (dining room, hall and living room, maybe kitchen too). Using the same wall color this way also makes the place look bigger. The other thing that makes your living room look small is the large sectional that you have there. This too large, over stuffed furniture in small rooms only makes the rooms look even smaller than they are. You are selling space, so work to make the house look more spacious.

I thought of something really nuanced I do. I will like something someone says, even in an argument (tibbrix you got my mind thinking!), not to take sides, but if they said what I was trying said, but better. That happens some. I do not always get my point across as well I as I could have, and they will say it right. For a while there, it was lucille who often said things much better than I said. Not disagreeing stuff, other things.

If you double click on each of those error messages it will bring another page with a slightly better description of the problem plus a link for further reading. Do the top error first the you can use the down arrow in the new window to visit each error and warning, just makes life a little easier.

Followed link and will let you know what error message there is next time it happens.
I have not added any new hardware nor have I downloaded anything new recently, but if I am reading that log correctly this has been going on for a while. I do know of several times but there are times I have to leave the laptop to take care of other things and I am guessing it has happened more than I knew about. Thank you for the link, will keep ya'll posted.

as owbist said you need to click on each of those event log entries to open the info about them in there you will see also an event ID number those are important and can be looked up on google. Using that info plus the error message hopefully we can figure out what is causing it to happen.
you could also go into device manager and see if there happen to be any yellow exclamation conflict symbols in front of any of the entries which would indicate conflicts.

These are the latest 6 warning and or errors for today, there are many more but I know you don't want them all posted here. This is all greek to me, other than something is wrong. There are at least 27 more starting from this morning when I got the BSOD.

With this many error messages you should check to see if it is still under warranty.

If you wish to try this first then run System File checker (SFC). The link below spells out how in Vista. This is the same in all flavours of Windows and it will go through checking all the Windows files for corrupt or missing files. Be sure to leave a space between sfc and the forward slash /no other spaces though. You will no doubt need the Vista DVD.

I agree with owbist if you have a pc that is throwing off multiple event log entries and BSOD that is still under warranty it is time to call them. It will only get worse so take care of it while you can under warranty. You should not have to be dealing with that on a new pc.

That probably is the way to go even with the Blue Screen Error (Stop error) it still becomes a guessing game.
