We can't innoculate people against most viruses; and there's real (our nations') money behind hundreds of scientists trying to come up with innoculations for human diseases. Now that the rose industry is on hard times, the Garden Rose group out in California, the one that's got money and is funded by rose producers that grow more than 100,000 plants per year, this group has lost at least three, maybe four of their main members. The money's not there. This year marks no only a major loss of rose producers, but also the first year that the AAS rose selections are defunct. Where is the science behind handling rose diseases. In the past decade, papers on the different strains of Black Spot and different strains of powdery mildew. A paper on Downey Mildew reporting that it becomes systemic in plants. What drove these papers was the cut flower industry because that's where the money is. And that's not in North America. Sorry to be such a downer, but at least we now know that some folks who've gone around proclaiming that there is no RRD problem in roses, that the symptoms are mostly herbicide and or excessive nutrient caused, are a plant's reaction to mite spit, etc. now have to explain away this identified virus. It will enable great American roses to be shared with the rest of the world as the material can be tested before it's exported to prove that it's RRV-free.

Run an updated malwarebytes full scan and a superantispyware scan let them clean what is found then have your avast scan it again it probably asked if you want to delete or quarantine, go with quarantine when asked that. The reason for that is should you need to add this back in it is still available but it is locked away

Several competing products are rated higher than Avast, you may want to give one a try. If you do, remember to uninstall Avast before installing another program. Having two at the same time can be a problem. Here is a link that might be useful: PC Mag Anti Virus ratings

I guess this is why it's good not to put all one's eggs in one basket, but use different scans of each type when reasonable (i.e. using online AV scans in addition to using one's preferred full-time AV program). Re: the PC Mag article(s): FWIW, Rubenking praised MBAM -- and I use it myself ! -- but it didn't find the four trojans that the ESET scan did. And my own free Avira AV scan didn't find them either. I'm not sure where trojans fall category-wise: malware or viruses. Or something else. But whatever programs should find them (av or anti-malware), mine didn't. :-( Perhaps I should have also tried AVG just to see if its results would have been better, but I was naturally more concerned with getting rid of whatever was in my computer than with doing AV, anti-malware tests. ;-) So my (albeit limited) experience of having ESET find and remove 4 trojans that MBAM and Avira missed, at least makes me lean in the direction of trusting ESET for future supplementary AV scan purposes. And, of course, I'll try the Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool again if necessary. (Since I ran it after the ESET scan, I have no idea if it would have found and removed the 4 trojans as well. And I hope I never have cause to find out in the future !!)
