you would only have MSE if you went and downloaded it and installed it, the program does NOT come with windows. You would need to totally remove AVG when and if you do get MSE, as stated use the removal tool which you can find here. Antivirus Product Removal Tools Keep malwarebytes if that is actually what you have, it is difficult to know when you do not use the actual names in your post. What does this line that you posted mean??? "the malware small window at the bottom of my screen" are you referring to malwarebytes? or is it some rogue malware??? Tell us exactly what it is you see and what it goes to. Names of security programs are extremely important because the people that want to infect your computer with bad stuff create the bad stuff and put names on it that are very similar to real programs and if we do not know which you have well we can't really help. And zep is right the mini is not really meant to be a main computer it is small in every way not just size, it has a very small processor and since yours runs windows 7 it takes a lot to run that and the little mini will struggle. but you do need to tell us exactly what is slow, is it surfing the web, is it booting up, is it opening programs on it????

go into control panel to the windows update area and there select to notify you but do not download updates make that change apply ok. to check for malware run the free malwarebytes, update it then full scan let it clean what it finds. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware make sure your antivirus program is updating and that the scans are being done. do you have the vista firewall turned on? if not turn it on if you do not have a firewall on the pc. to get the windows updates actually go to the windows update website and allow it to scan your pc for needed updates, choose custom, then select the critical updates you want to install, do it from there, if any thing does not complete it will show you what was successful and what failed. if you do not know how to get to the windows update site simply google windows update and it will be the first one listed

You shouldn't be getting ANY popups with the following configurations in Firefox: (1a) Under Tools, Options, Web features: (1b) Block Pop Ups (check, ie click it so it has a tick) (1c) Enable Java (uncheck, ie click it to *remove* the tick) (1d) Enable Java Script (uncheck as above). (1e) Quit your browser (don't just close the window) and restart it. Still getting popups? If so: (2a) Under Tools, Options, Privacy: (2b) Cache (click on CLEAR button). (2c) Quit Firefox then restart. Still getting popups? If so, the big gun left is to clear all info stored in your browser, as it means that the annoying ads have been saved on your computer and are automatically activated when you visit a certain webpage. Problem is that if you rely on your browser to store passwords for you, they will all be cleared. (I have the cache set to be cleared every time the browser is closed, and so have to log on to every site anew, but for me it's worth it.) (3a) Under Tools, Options, Privacy: (3b) At the bottom right of the dropdown box, click the CLEAR button beside 'Clear all information stored while browsing'. (3c) Confirm that this is what you want to do (by clicking on the 'Clear all information' button that appears'). (3d) Quit Firefox and reopen it. Now, the popups MUST be gone. (And I hope you can make sense of this paragraph-less message!)

Malwarebytes is a broom and dust pan, not a Roomba robot. Until you manually start it and put it to work, it's doing nothing. I've found that many people share this misunderstanding and also don't fully understand its use. If your security software FAILS to detect an intrusion, if you can get Malwarebytes started, it likely will clean out the problem. That's its main use as far as I'm concerned. I have it on my machines (just as some might have a fire extinguisher in a kitchen or garage) but I plan to never need it. And through the years, its use has been rare in my house. If you choose and install one of the top rated, comprehensive security suites (which do stay alert real-time and block dangerous activity and downloads), use common sense in your internet use and restrict downloads to a minimum and only essential items coming from known and legit sources, you will never need Malwarebytes.
