Google history gone

When I use Google, my past searches have always shown up as soon as I started to type. If I type G, then all searches I made beginning with G appear and I only have to click on the one I want to get it in the search box.

But a few days ago, that feature disappeared. Now, as soon as I type G, or whatever letter, a long list chosen by Google appears. And in very tiny print. Their choices are almost never mine and it's really annoying.

Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone know how to get the old system back? Thanks.

Ginny this is an easy fix. When you go to Google on the right of the search box... click on PREFERENCES. Once that opens scroll to the bottom where it says QUERY SUGGESTIONS. Click on the button that says.... Do not provide query suggestions in the search box. Then on the very bottom right click on SAVE PREFERNCES. Your own history will now be the only history that shows up.

Thank you, thank you, Shboom. Easy indeed. I had no idea how much I relied on my Google history til it was gone--but now it's back.

It took about 15 minutes to SEARCH, Mickey2, and that was the main point of the post. The SEARCH option can get to particular points of interest very easily. Regarding your question about how much time I have....I hope about 35 more really great years. Then a gradual fade-out wrapped in the arms of Alz Heimer's most lovely young daughter, who's name escapes me at the moment, but whom I remember sharing an intimate whirlwind merry-go-round tryst with during recess one day in the 5th grade. Sorry, zep, I now am not certain if it is Google... I did donwload the History Eraser. It did NOT erase my ever growing history on the Map. When I go to settings/application/running services, it looks like it is a google...but the History Eraser didn't do the trick?? It is the 'map' app that came with the phone- a 'little square box with a blue ball in the middle'. What else can I try, without going to the TMobile store? Thank you.

Ginny,

If you clear your cookies, you will have to reset those preferences once again. If you want Google to never give an autosuggestion, use the following Google address:

http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0

I'd like to thank Bob for finding the solution to one of Ginny's problems as it was also one of my problems, the part about the search box was very annoying as like Ginny none of the choices were any that I wanted. I also took Terry's advice and changed my Google address.

As for my Google history, it has always been blank for some reason but I don't care for that feature anyway.
