dethride, that may not be the fault of GardenWeb. Someone may have sneaked another unwanted program in your machine that will generate those pop ups when it detects words like fruit, apples, berries etc... The pages of this specific forum will always have the word Fruit, so unless that adware is removed, it will pop all the time. Never had any pop-up on my machine. Of course I have several types of firewall including sophisticated software firewall. I don't download any free programs, never clicked electronic greetings so don't anybody send me, never clicked on any links on any emails, and if I wanted to, I first cut and paste it unto an editor to evaluate the construction of the address and then research about if the address belonged to suspicious people. All my email defaults do not execute any of the scripts such as active x, java, and all html, flash player, media player , and if I wanted to view them, would use a honeypot computer that doesn't have any sensitive information and not directly linked to our network. Never sacrifice security for convenience.

Minw Came with 4 gigs of ram, that is the exact model and specs I have, that is the exact computer I bought. I did install with administrative privileges. They really screwed up on using someone else to make this I think. No one ever had this trouble when masque did the games for them. A lot of people wrote for a refund and got it but since it's working on my desktop I won't go that route. I read nothing but complaints and even people that meet more than the specs can't get it to work, too fussy they claim. Someone with an alienware computer couldn't even get it to work which I know doesn't mean much but they have more than you need to run this. One other person has 4 computers in the house and 2 meet the requirements and 2 are beyond and it will only work on one they claim. I guess from now on when they put out any new ones gonna have to read the specs careflly as the next one might not even run on this desktop unless IGT hears all the complaints and does not have encore put it out. owbist, Thanks, it was just me being stupid, not reading what was before my eyes. Yes, Microsoft's Windows Security Manager did show a firewall was on, and it was/is Zonealarm. I didn't expect MS to be so open as to say some FW other than theirs was active. I'm at a meeting and grumbled to my neighbor at the table, he looked over and said: "it says Zone Alarm is on".

Thought I'd update. Got Windows installed without a hitch, Dell talked me through it. I debated whether to put Win 7 in since I was starting from scratch but worried some of my software might not work Everything went well except I couldn't find drivers for some things such as my wireless adapter so couldn't get on line. Called Linksys and they spent over an hour trying to get the driver in and finally did. That was the best part, finally getting on line and getting hit with a zillion MS updates. I have misplaced or lost some software. We moved here in March and I could not locate my Office disk, wireless mouse/keyboard software and a few other things, might have gotten lost in the move. I'm most concerned about Office 07. I paid for it. Dell says they can't help and I could try contacting MS and see if they would do anything. I haven't moved any of my files back yet. Otherwise, I feel like the computer runs better than when it was new. Things seem different, have to fool with fonts and views, but I'm amazed how effortlessly the machine runs. This computer always seemed to have a few 'glitches' but I was used to it. Now it seems so fast and smooth (of course there isn't much running on it yet.) I don't know how to thank everyone for all the support and help I received. You are the best friends anyone could ever ask for. I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks!
