gmail problem

Has anyone else had problems with gmail since they did an "upgrade"? When I try to type an email the box jumps around so I can't see what I am typing. And if I put the contacts in before I write the email it will send on its own.
Using IE 9. Tried using firefox but couldn't make the print the size I like. Either too small or too big.

Can't help you with your email. I don't use Gmail or Yahoo anymore, to many problems.

If you use FF look for "no squint" in the ad ons. You can adjust the font size there. The icon is always on my add on bar on the bottom, you can change the font size and the back ground color. I love the option to change the back ground color. Right now I have a orange sherbert color for a back ground. It saves eye strain caused by the bright white MS insists on using.

The fonts on the tool bars are far to small for comfort. I change that right away when I set up my PC, it is a more stable change. In W 7 right click on the desktop, Personalize, click on window color, then on advance appearance. A menu will come up, click on the area you want the font or background color changed. I like this way better but some internet site fonts are to small and the no squint helps there. On my W 8 computer the font and background color change is under display.

I downloaded mozilla thunderbird and so far it seems to be working.

I use Firefox and gmail. I have the "done" showing in my "status bar" @lower left. The status bar shows the progress of the page loading, and when it is fully loaded, the word "done" appears. Is this what you are referring to? If you have lost your status bar, go to "view" and see if "status bar" is checked? I have no problem "forwarding mail".

Hi, Genes. I'm afraid I'm not following you. I use Gmail - and don't use an email client. So I'm talking about the single lines in the inbox that state the sender, subject and time. The subject and sender used to appear in bold for unread emails. Now the unread emails are not in bold - and are not visually distinct from the read emails. I get many, many emails a day (listservs etc), so quickly being able to scan my inbox for the new emails is important. I have literally spent a couple of hours searching the net - and gmail forums for solutions. All I find is a lot of mentions of the problems when gmail gets updated - and those complaints are from various times in the past year. But no solutions (except a couple of suggestions for adding the stylish add-on to regain contrast). I did the firefox stylish add-on but it didn't do anything. This problem seems like something gmail would have fixed or allowed to be altered in settings. But I've poured through settings and can't restore the contrast. Thanks. Lynn.

we've had problems w/ our other email/website server and all of us at work who use email to communicate just got work gmail to overcome our email problems. well yesterday some did have gmail sending issues but today we are up and running fine. ~ liz

I tried your suggestion and find though it works, it requires several more steps than I am accustomed to. Right clicking on the photo allowed me to save it directly into the "family folder." My dear husband was the computer expert and I struggle to continue the tradition he started many years ago. Sure hope I can get back to doing it my old familiar way. sigh

I do use gmail and have had what I thought were some monitor issues in the past few weeks, but since reading your post, I'm not so sure it's the monitor. When I open FF, I have 2 gmail accounts on separate tabs that open in addition to some other tabs. I'm still keeping track of the foibles, but it seems just the two tabs that have the gmail accts cause the monitor to black out, only show partially, or show a small slice of the gmail screen at top and bottom of screen. When I click on the other tabs (weather site, netvibes, weight watchers, etc) the screen is normal. Hmmmmmm.

Chrome and Mozilla browsers are more reliable and less problematic. Try them.
I'm not sure that the above applies to the problems of Google. ;)

I don't access yahoo and gmail from online, I have them come into my mail program so no problems at all. I can't stand online mail. Even on my tablet and phone I have the yahoo and gmail apps. Mary

I do what acraftylady does. I use my servers email and direct it through Windows Live Mail.
