Reading PDF

I bought a "book" online.Nothing indicated that I would receive only a PDF file by email. Aside from my complaint to and about the seller, how can I go about reading this?
My available reading time is just a few moments now and then.
Printing the material is just out of the question. Buying a bound print copy from the bookstore would cost less.
Any other solution that you can suggest?

Did you try to open the file? If you don't already have a PDF reader, several free ones are available...all you have to do is google.

I should have been more specific. Yes, the file will open at/on my computer. I can read it at/on the computer screen.
Do I have other options for reading a PDF file?

I don't know why you're getting that message. You don't need to buy Adobe Acrobat to read a PDF document. You can just download the free Adobe Reader. The versions of Adobe Acrobat that you have to pay for are for those who want to create fancy PDF documents. Also, there are many other free PDF readers available. The one I prefer and use is Foxit Reader, which would works at least as well as Adobe Reader and has a program only about 1/10 the size. Here is a link that might be useful: Foxit

Lets in stall Adobe reader. See link below First on that webpage Put your mouse over the check mark on the optional offer. Click to un-check it, you don't need that. When my Harmon was installed, I was warned against scraping the fire pit too often. I have found that the time between scraping depends on the fuel you are using (Maple pellets seem to produce a lot more carbon that oak, pine is about in the middle, ash is almost as clean as oak, etc. ) I scrape about every 5-8 bags (e.g. 200-300 pounds) of fuel. Just after scraping, I can run the feed rate at 4 1/2 with a specific brand of pellet, and as the fire pit loads up, I have to back off on the feed rate. After 3 or 4 bags, I set the feed rate on 3. The ash bucket fills up after about 20-25 bags of fuel, and I simply slow the stove down for a while and dump the bucket, clean up any ash that was behind it, give the primary tubes a quick clean, and put it back together. I clean everything once every ton of fuel or so. (e.g. filling the ash bucket 2 or 3 times.) The reason I end up playing with the feed rate is that: a: The stove is the only heat we are using in the house. b: The house is about 2500 sq ft. c: it was getting down to -5F at night in the area this winter. So, I go for getting the most heat I can from the stove. If it doesn't get as cold at night, I don't need the little bit of extra output I can get. When it is really cold out, I'll burn 2+ bags a day. Right now, it's about 1 1/2. (It is only getting down to about +10F at night.) As far as cleaning the glass, its done when the rest of the stove gets a full cleaning. I bought a pack of 500 single edge razor blades and put a fresh blade in the knife, take the heavy stuff off, then use Windex(r).

barb Certainly is good reading there for not only newbies but those that have been doing this for awhile. After reading does give me some concerns , not that I didnt already have them that in time giving my small space and two tier systems consisting of 8bins total , at some point space vs worms may become a problem. Im hoping that the constant rotating of the bins with keep things in order at least for a while. On the issue of shredded paper[confetti style] not being a good mix I have not problem as when I make a new tray bedding I mix some in with the bedding and its always been used up when I harvest. But I also agree with the long full length strand of paper which I do by hand and pile that on top as a covering for the food and to keep fruit flies at bay.

Some PDF readers have an export or Save as.... then you might save it to a different format like to .RTF which word or wordpad or many formatted text readers will recognize.

You can probably search online .. Convert PDF to
and find most formats you might want. Below is one to word but it also converts to rich text file ..RTF

What do you prefer to read it on, might be the question.. and convert it to that file format.

Anytime a document is converted from its original published format to an alien format there is a risk that the new format will not display as intended.

I have read PDF's on my kindle fire and my android phone. I would be complaining to the seller where ever you bought it if they didn't state it was a PDF and not an actual book and ask for a refund. Where did you buy the book from? Mary

As I already stated in different words, the transaction is not the question here. My need for a Kindle is not great. It appears, as I suspected, that reading the PDF on my computer is about the only workable alternative, for me, to buying a print edition. And I might do that as that is my preferred format.

Well if you don't have a kindle, android tablet, android phone, Iphone, Ipad, Ipod touch and such then yes your only option is your computer. You can read PDF on all those other devices was my point but if you don't have any of those then you can't.

I would complain to the seller where ever you ordered it if they did not state you were getting a hard copy and only a PDF and get my money back but that is just me as I don't like when sellers leave that important piece of info out.

I know on amazon if a seller did that you would first see what the seller says then if you get no where contact amazon and report them and amazon would refund your money. I don't think it's right a seller makes it to be a hard copy then they have you download a PDF if that's not what you wanted. Mary
