Looking for large tiles (4x12)ish for backsplash
Comments (13)Cat mom-we are going to use daltile modern dimensions for our kitchen backsplash. Would it be possible for you to post a picture of your hall bathroom where you went with the 4x12 in a horizontal brick pattern? That's what we'd like to do! Mountaineer2: I looked at every color of the bellavita bamboo glass tile-none was quite right. I was so bummed out because it is gorgeous!!! DH wanted to go with ceramic tile which is why we turned to the daltile. But if I were on my own, I'd get samples of all of the creek side to see if any would work. Sooooo pretty!...See MoreTiling backsplash.... will tiling only the lower half look silly?
Comments (10)Thanks everyone for your thoughts and willingness to help. I'm looking right now to see if I've got a before pic of the kitchen, I found a picture we took when we previewed the house for the first time, I am scanning it in. Sherrmar, I touched on why I don't want to fill it with tile in my original post, I don't want the wall to look too heavy with tile, and I don't want the shine of new tile to look out of place in an old farmhouse kitchen. Clergychick, I loved that backsplash tile! I wish that style would 'go' with my house because I'd totally copy it! Sparkle, the paint tone would be the same tone as the tiles, not a bright accent color or anything. Thanks for showing those pics. One of the reasons I don't want to go all the way up is the big wall over the sink. I don't think I want the backsplash to continue up into tiles there, also I don't want to put an accent area over the stove, with a tile mural or area of interest, because the stove will be replaced with one without a control panel eventually, then the area with a special tile area will not be centered. So, onto the picture, I don't know how to put one in this post so I will add it to my page. See that big wall over the sink? I don't want the tile all the way up to where the bottom of the counters is, that will look too high in my opinion. But what do you all think? I'm open to ideas....See MoreShow me your Arts and Crafts / Bungalow / Craftsman backsplash
Comments (27)I ended up with tiles from Seneca Tile in their Handmold line. I absolutely love the way the tiles look surrounding my fireplace and they would be just as beautiful on a backsplash. I searched high and low for handmade tiles that weren't $$$ before I went into a more boutique type tile store and found exactly what I was looking for. The link doesn't do the tiles justice at all. For example, the tile picture below is the color "sierra", which on the website looks beigy. IRL, it is far from being beige. Here's an old picture, but you get the idea. Here is a link that might be useful: Handmold collection...See MoreAdvice Needed on Kitchen Tile Back-Splash and LVT/LVP Flooring Color
Comments (5)Hi Chispa, House is a townhouse built in 1996, trying to modernize the look. As far as decorating style, I like modern/contemporary, nothing too funky. Something that would be cohesive with the rest of the kitchen, and bring the kitchen to life a little. It's very white right now....See Morerosefolly
