Follow the instructions in this link, and you should be able to uninstall it. That being said, I've never reverted to an older version of something as important as a browser so I can't guess what if anything might go wrong. Is IE your only browser? If yes, now might be a good time to check out the available alternatives. Even if you don't want to use another browser, it's a very good idea to have one available just in case something goes wrong with IE. I understand you don't like IE, but a rush to dump it on the same day you installed it is ill-advised. You should give it a fair trial whether you like it or not. When it comes to computers, change is a fact of life and you'll eventually be at a disadvantage if you refuse to cope with the changes. FWIW, I prefer Firefox 4 over all others. In my opinion, they'll end up pushing some people away from MS systems completely. I have a Win 7 machine, and I much prefer my XP---everything is so logical and straightforward. So I can see some jumping ship to Macs or moving on over to some flavor of Linux.

Go to the web page you like for your home page.. then open your internet options... towards the top you will see the address of the page you are on. Press the button under it that says ' Use Current '

I had started another brief thread asking about IE9 (link below) which has some very helpful comments from the more knowledgeable people here. One thing I noted in the thread is the apparent waste of space. In my IE9 beta the title bar was/is empty except for the maximize, minimize and close buttons at top right. I much prefer my customized FF, Opera and Iron with as little browser visible as necessary (hidden title bar, mouse gesture to show/hide address bar, etc.). Since IE9 is, after all, only in beta, maybe they'll deal with the waste of precious screen real estate before the final release.
