if it will not let you run it as mbam.exe you may have to rename it, let me know
As you seem unable to download anything perhaps you could visit a friend, neighbour or family member to download Malwarebytes and save it on a thumb drive.
Have your anti virus and firewall been disabled also?
Click Start > Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > View > Show Hidden Devices.
* Scroll down to "Non-plug and Play Drivers" and click the plus icon to open those drivers. then search for any of the following:
* T Seneka.sys - clbdriver.sys - TDSSserv.sys Let me know if you find this or not. * If you do find it, right click on it, and select "Disable". Do not try to uninstall it. * Also if this is found and you disable it, then reboot and see if you can run the other scans that would not run.
zep I do not have T Seneka.sys - clbdriver.sys - TDSSserv.sys listed.I do have vires prtec .I have not been able to down load any thing since I have had it about 2 years .I have avg.
I don't have the full list so I can't say at this time what that is exactly follow owbist instruction or try this below:
1. Restart your computer. 2. When the machine first starts again it will generally list some equipment that is installed in your machine, amount of memory, hard drives installed etc. At this point you should gently tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with a Windows Vista Advanced Options menu. 3. Select the option for Safe Mode WITH NETWORKING using the arrow keys. 4. Then press enter on your keyboard to boot into Safe Mode WITH NETWORKING 5. Try to download from there just malwarebytes only you will not have Anti Virus protection in this mode so don't surf the internet.
what do you mean you have not been able to download anything on it for 2 years "I have not been able to down load any thing since I have had it about 2 years .I have avg."
Ok I have tried to dl cccleaner it goes through the motion and I amit let it in but when I look for it on my desk t it is not there or any where else I have the vir pro. avg.I am not very puter smart. So I can not exsplane it all .
Tricia you should see the AVG icon down near the clock in the lower right corner. Double click on that. now the AVG window appears, look in the lower left corner to see the date for when it last updated and the date it last scanned. Let us know those please.
Regarding Ccleaner click Start, click Accessories, click Run. In this small window type ccsetup*.* and click to search for your download of Ccleaner.
You have Windows Defender on that computer, there should be an icon on the task bar. If so click on it to bring up the Windows Defender window and look for dates for the latest update and latest scan to be sure the program is working and not turned off by Trojans or whatever else may be affecting your computer. If there is no icon then click Start and it should be listed there. Let us know these dates too.
AVG is up to date and Window defender is working and there nothing going on. I ran cccleaner in run not there eather .I was wondering if fire wall is not letting any thing in .I am confused.
