Screen too big...

I know this has been posted before, but my screen is too big for my monitor - all of a sudden! It's not just a browser issue as even my desktop is outside the monitor. If I move my mouse to any edge that side moves in the screen but the other-side disappears.

Computer was fine all day and I know the settings weren't fooled with.

That is odd, I'm sure you tried a reboot to restore settings, please see the link for further and detailed instructions on display settings, your other options are maybe a system restore if you can not adjust settings for some reason. System restore can be found through - Start>accessories>system tools>system restore

if it is a regular desktop with a monitor look on the front of the monitor and see if there is an auto adjust button, often those button get bumped by accident when cleaning or moving stuff around and it sets is to something else.

I would also go to the desktop right click on clear area go into properties then the display settings and just check to make sure your resolution is still set as it should be for your monitor.

is this a monitor you just added and now are having this problem or did this suddenly happen on a monitor you have been using? It sounds like the resolution is not set to the proper size for the monitor, look at your monitor info and find out what the preferred resolution setting should be, then go into your settings area and set the resolution slider so it corresponds with the preferred settings for that size monitor. Right click on desktop choose properties then the tab for the screen. If you tell us the model of the monitor and more info on it we could look it up and find the proper resolution setting for it.

Not a huge fan of window coverings although living room and dining rooms are fully draped. RLR, you and my DH would get along well. We have the Pablo Design Swell lamps in the kitchen which is just to the right of this space and they are very similar. (please don't mind the mess we are still trying to figure out where things belong.) I'm trying to bring a little flair to the niche, that's why I asked for a cabinet that didn't look like the kitchen cabinets. We have a lot of antique Art Deco furniture in dining room. This cabinet is a light hearted play on that, more light and airy, less shiny.

The color choice depends on what works best with your projector, not what looks best in your decor. If you want the wall to look nice while not watching anything, I'd suggest something that pulls down from the ceiling or even a wall hung retractable screen so you can put art behind it. The size depends on where you can put the projector and how far your seating is from the screen. You would benefit from visiting projectorcentral.com and learning more about it. No, you don't need to decorate before asking for help, just remove items that don't need to be included in the decorating. Hide them behind you for the picture or something. I mean, you're not going to have a suitcase and tools on the floor all the time, right? So get those out of the picture ... throw the comforter/quilt over the bed (doesn't have to be made up fancy, just made) ... cut up and recycle the Amazon box unless it's serving a purpose in the picture (is it standing in for a patio table or chair?). The idea is to take 5 minutes like company called from downstairs, and you want them to have room to walk and sit. Example: if the chair with the laptop needs to be replaced with a workspace, leave it and say that; if it's there because you just moved in, and the laptop isn't relevant to decorating/design/layout, move it. Give a list of things that *have* to stay, things that could be changed but serve a required function, and things that could stay or go. Example: the keyboard has to stay; the TV can be replaced, but there needs to be a TV; the blackout drapes can be changed, but blackout function must be preserved; ignore the ______ because it's just there during move in.

An update. After trying various things (except System Restore) I fixed it although I'm not sure what caused the problem. It was so strange because the entire desktop would move around. It would be hidden but if I put the cursor near an edge the whole screen moved to the opposite side.

I found that my screen resolution settings were changed to an uneven number. I couldn't get it back to the right #. It kept going back to these weird numbers. After rebooting a million times, I got it to hold and its fine now. Had to redo my FF home page because that shrunk. Now its fine.

Only thing I can think of is that we had a rough thunder storm and I unplugged everything. I didn't shut the monitor off first. I don't know - dam computers!
