IF you are using FireFox there is a very neat add on called "No Squint". I use it and don't have any problems anymore with too big or too small pages. When you set the page size to suit you using the - or + icon (that's on your tool bar when you download the add on), the page will stay that same size every time you go back to that page. I really like it.

An update. After trying various things (except System Restore) I fixed it although I'm not sure what caused the problem. It was so strange because the entire desktop would move around. It would be hidden but if I put the cursor near an edge the whole screen moved to the opposite side. I found that my screen resolution settings were changed to an uneven number. I couldn't get it back to the right #. It kept going back to these weird numbers. After rebooting a million times, I got it to hold and its fine now. Had to redo my FF home page because that shrunk. Now its fine. Only thing I can think of is that we had a rough thunder storm and I unplugged everything. I didn't shut the monitor off first. I don't know - dam computers! Well, this is a run that is sandwiched in between walls, so you'll need to make sure it has a filler there, and there's not an overhead layout with the dimensions and location of the window, so I may be suggesting something that won't work....but.... What I'd do is have a 1" filler start off that run to the left, then a 24" drawer cabinet, then a 33" sink base cabinet, then the DW and then eliminate that skinny pullout that won't be much use and then (not sure how much space is left) a small filler and the corner cabinet. That would leave you with the uppers being 24" (glass, two door), window, 24" (glass, two door), whatever size is left, and corner cabinet (not glass). That would give you visual symmetry around the sink area, and if you achieve that, then you don't really have to worry about the "leftovers". Your eye will only focus on the sink area.

Wow! So many different opinions! I know that the portraits need to be framed, and I'm aware that the sides are unfinished. I have always intended to get them framed. When ODS's portrait was finished, I propped it on the dresser while I waited for YDS to be old enough to have his painted. I wanted to wait until I had them both so they coud be framed alike. It would be my luck that ODS's frame would no longer be available when I went to frame YDS's. The portrait broker offered me these frames for free (long story). It never occured to me that they'd be this big or ornate. I was a bit shocked when I picked them up from the framer. The frames came from a to the trade wholesaler. She described them as "the quintessential portrait frame." I have art, both framed and gallery wrapped throughout my home. I just don't love these particular frames. Free is the key word here! We are in the final stages of adding a master suite, new HVAC, new hot water heaters, new roof, and having the entire exterior of the house painted. Plus, we had to pay for YDS's poartrait at the same time we were doing all of the stuff to the house because he hit the age that I wanted him to be for his portrait. I'd love to get them framed in something simpler and more tailored. They could even be gold - just not so much of it! Financially, it's just not in the cards right now. Popping them out of their frames would be a temporary solution. I guess the real question is which is the lessor of two evils for right now? Unframed, with unfinished sides or frames that are too large and ornate? Again, I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to respond to my question. I really have considered every opinion and suggestion that has been offered.
