Any sounds? Nothing on the screen indicates a problem not related to Windows because you're not even getting past the POST. Likely hardware related - could be lots of stuff - motherboard, video card, memory. You might try pulling the battery (and disconnecting it from the wall charger) and letting it sit for 30 minutes or so. If that doesn't work, try pulling the coin cell (CMOS battery) - it's and a small access door on the back of the machine and also (again) the main battery. Let it sit again. Maybe you get lucky.

Yes, letting it sit over nite really does not matter, they heat up instantly, Does it feel hot? The other possibility is it is a (BSOD) Do you see a blue screen right before it shuts down? They can occur very quickly & you may miss it. it is a blue screen with an error on it, If that is the case try this setting after you do you will now be able to see blue screen error, we would need this error to help you, here are the steps 1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties. Click the Advanced tab. Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings to open the Startup and Recovery dialog box. Clear the Automatically restart check box, and click OK the necessary number of times. Restart your computer for the settings to take effect. Now when you go to shut down and a fatal error occurs, you'll at least see it and it won't cause an automatic reboot. You still have to sort out what's causing the problem.

What is the computer model number? Consider seriously before taking it to a repair shop because today you'll likely buy a new computer for close to what you might well pay in repair charges. With the recovery CDs you can do this yourself. It is a simple task requiring very little user input other than agreeing to allow it to wipe the drive so you lose all your data - which the repair guy will do anyway so you may as well curse at yourself as curse at him/her. With no beep it does sound as though the motherboard has quit. They made some eMachines a few years ago with defective power supplies which quit without warning. In many cases the power supply also took out the motherboard and replacements were not available. Those computer were instant garbage but I thought that was fixed before your machine was made. Take the left side off your computer and read odd the make and wattage of your power supply

Thanks for your help. The problem still exists but I got by my hurdle, I hope. It started when I needed to return a form that required my clarity. I reduced Word print to an 8 font. From Word I was able to print two lines of identification data. I then cut the that data from the printed sheet. I pasted that data in an area of the form that needed my clarification. Then I printed a copy of the edited form. Then I scanned that copy to Desktop in order to have a Desktop file. Then I returned the Desktop edited form to the sender via email. Sure sounds like a lot of trouble, doesn't it. Thanks for reading this. I did this explanation more for me. Hope I was too boring. But I was being pushed to get it done. It is very apparent that I have edited the form that was sent to me. I'm not trying to fool anyone. I just need to make sure the sender and I are on the same track. Its been 24 hours and I've not heard back from the sender. I think it is okay. I'm pretty slow about studying things. I need to reread what you said and pursue the printing issue of HP and/or Picasa.
