This might be starting to sound like an old song, but is your Java, Shockwave Player and Flash Player current? I regularly ask this as it seems too often I have dealt with systems that users express browser concerns, and I find that sometimes this software is original or near original. The upgrade to the current versions is not always the answer, but it is extremely beneficial in the long run regardless. DA

I was using the full address, just as on my desktop. I finally did the HELP thing, and they wanted my cell phone. I don't have text enabled, so did not enter that. When I typed in an alternate EMail, message says they don't have that one in their records. So I clicked on "Can't access either one", and they sent an Email with reset information to be accessed tomorrow afternoon. Funny thing - if I still didn't have the desktop to receive the Yahoo Email, and I can't log in on laptop - how in the world would I have been able to reset?? Just doesn't make sense. And I hope tomorrow afternoon I will be able to reset and log in on laptop. I don't have a positive feeling about it!

Yes Vista is your version of your windows operating system it comes with IE Internet Explorer that is your browser, since you have Vista it is likely that your version of IE is IE7 to find out for sure just go up to the top where you see Help click on that then on about and it will show you which version of IE you are using. So no need to change from your yahoo. But it is always a very good idea to have more than one browser on any computer because should something bad happen to your IE browser (and it often does) then you will have no other way to get online, so adding firefox as an extra is good preventative medicine. Does not mean you have to use it but it is there just in case. You can leave IE set as your default browser and you will never know you even added firefox. However most that try it really like it, I rarely ever use IE now. a real quick and easy way to know what browser you happen to be using right now is just click on this link and it will give you all the info about it. What's My Browser? this one tells you even more info including what your IP address is and more info you may need Your Browser Details I will add that anyone that is still using IE6 needs to update to IE 7 or 8 as soon as possible you are at risk still using IE6 it is no longer supported and many websites no longer write for it so will not render properly.

Without more info, there's no telling if OP's "toolbar" reference is browser related or something in the Y mail page content. There are parts of the "new" mail page that look like toolbars. If Avast is acting up, try a different product - there are many alternatives (including in the free space) that are more highly rated than Avast. I use Y mail and have found it to be performing erratically over the past few weeks. Erratic in many ways including delayed mail delivery, inability to connect or getting disconnected in mid-session, etc., Rule #1 about using any kind of technology is if something doesn't seem to work, try something else. Don't do the same thing again unless you want to experience the same result again. Cheerful, if you find your husband isn't getting your emails, why not send an SMS message instead?
