Can I get classic view in Yahoo mail?

Need help getting back the classic view in Yahoo Mail.

Don't like their "new view" and want to go back to the old one. I don't have an "option" button in upper right corner as poster stated when I did a search on this subject.

I don't have the option either....So I'm not so sure it's possible. Those instructions you got I think were for the beta version...

I got an email from yahoo saying they would be doing the updates it sounds like soon there will be no option other than going with the new version. But this link was in that email.

have you checked in your recycle bin or in your email client deleted folder? it is usually there for a while before being removed. Since you did not mention if the folder you created was an email folder on your email client or if it was a folder somewhere on your pc you will have to use which ever location applies. if it was on your pc you can also go to start> search and type in the name of the folder or files and do a search for it. In your email client there should be a search option you can put in the persons email address and search for any emails received from that person they may still show up.

Without more info, there's no telling if OP's "toolbar" reference is browser related or something in the Y mail page content. There are parts of the "new" mail page that look like toolbars. If Avast is acting up, try a different product - there are many alternatives (including in the free space) that are more highly rated than Avast. I use Y mail and have found it to be performing erratically over the past few weeks. Erratic in many ways including delayed mail delivery, inability to connect or getting disconnected in mid-session, etc., Rule #1 about using any kind of technology is if something doesn't seem to work, try something else. Don't do the same thing again unless you want to experience the same result again. Cheerful, if you find your husband isn't getting your emails, why not send an SMS message instead?

They give us no choices,huh? We have to do what they want or else!!

Life was so simple before pc's.
Just grab a good book and read the afternoon away with no tech problems.lol
I miss the old days.

I got my old yahoo back by turning off java*script, logged into yahoo and it gave me an option to go back to the old version. Then enabled java*script again. It's still working for me...

Gmail has done the same thing in their calendar and email and the new layouts are not nearly as user friendly, logical or attractive to me. To their credit, they do have other "themes" available for the email.

jean, I did as you said;

tools - internet options - security - custom level - disable java applelets

restarted my pc - went back to yahoo-
but I still don't see the options to go back to classic.

What did I do wrong?

You don't disable applets. You disable Java Script. So in the Firefox browser click tools, Options. Then click the content tab, under the content tab uncheck Enable Java Script log in to yahoo mail again. Then go back and check Java Script.

I don't have a suggestion for Internet Explorer.

I don't like the new Yahoo mail.

About once a week it gives me a message that the screen resolution is set wrong. I follow the instructions and find that the resolution is near their figure. I don't have any way to set it exactly. So I go through process, go back to EMail only to keep getting same message.

It has an option to go back to old Email for one time. Don't know what will happen when they remove the option.

Other times no problem at all.

My PC is over 6 years old! Use XP Home. Have all updates.

Just my humble opinion, but if Classic Mail does disappear entirely, don't be surprised. When changes like this happen, it's usually because those in charge think their new way is better (or more profitable) and they won't devote time & effort to support the old way of doing things indefinitely. Trying to get you used to the new way of doing things is just their way of breaking it to you gently.

Now might be the right time to learn how to install and use an email client of your choice that can be customized to suit your needs rather than leave your mail in the hands of those who are making changes you don't like. There are many good, free programs available. I use Thunderbird.

I use Thunderbird also. I get hotmail, gmail, yahoo mail and comcast.net mail and it all has the same interface. Easy to set up also. But, to each his own. Some people just prefer webmail.
