I would think it would not take long for the plants to die if the water was not running. Also a concern because to some extent my plants are out of sight i.e. on top of my flat roof. This is the reason why I am interested with the aeroponics. My property is covered by enormous trees and the roof is the only place that gets full sun. So I didn't want to drag tons of dirt up on the roof. Also could dismantle the system in the winter. I also have to admit that I am thrifty and these systems do seem to use resources efficiently. Although putting plants in the dirt would be cheaper and you could always just buy tomatoes and peppers at the store but this is more fun among other benefits. Lucas it is hard to be offended by someone that is helping me. Thanks Hex I like the idea of short duration sprays as well and is the direction I plan to go with but I wonder why,from the high pressure system I have seen so far, that most go with longer spray times Ex (10 secs. every 10 min.) Same amount of water more or less. Maybe it is easier to pull off, less wear and tear on parts, or maybe it is the controllers they use.???? Side note the link you sent me to has a very similar (looks identical) controller that I use on my fish tank. It is made Digital Aquatics and I am very happy with so far. Also notice they mention insulating root area. Does anyone know what is the approx. ideal temp. for the root area? (for aeroponics) Thanks for any help. Donna - nope, I haven't yet, and our courtesy hold on our Minas will end in a few days. What to do, what to do... Karlarock - Can you tell me if your stone is oiled in the photos? I really need something that will say, "Hello, I'm a black stone, and only at strange angles and bright sunlight can you see my hidden greens." ;o) Mustbnuts (I love your username, BTW!) - we'll have white beaded inset cabs on the perimeter with *some* variety of soapstone, and carrara marble on the island. Whether the island will be stained or some other paint color (green, perhaps?) is still up for debate. Further complicating things is that I have two very different carrara slabs from which to choose - one very calm one which I have seen in person, and one very veiny one I've only seen in photos. I'm leaning toward the veiny one, but I couldn't have a very veiny Minas in the same kitchen. We got photos of some new Minas slabs this morning which have even fewer white veins than the very quiet ones we have on hold, but it still appears to have a lot of the little white "spots," and I'm not sure I want that. In all of the finished Minas kitchen pictures I've seen, the stone appears solid black with white veins, without all the splotchies. Am I wrong about this? Do you Minas owners have those little spots, and they just aren't apparent in the photos?

If you go to a LUMBER YARD i am sure you will find plenty as they are readily available. And people always wonder when i recommend a lumber yard instead of a box store!!!

I didn't read through all the other answers, so this may be a repeat. I am usually pretty successful, although do have the occasional bothersome egg. I bring the eggs to a boil, turn off the heat, cover and let set for 20 to 22 minutes, then immediately dump the eggs in the sink, running cold water on them, roll them around to crack thoroughly, one at a time, and peel under the cold running water. Lift a fingernail under the shell and start peeling. Many times the peel will almost come off in one piece.
