UPDATE on Brenda 55

I just got off the phone with her and she said the power of the forum is working!!! Her blood oxygen level is up to 80. She sounded much better than the last time I heard from her. She was hoping to go home tomorrow but they looked at her like she had 3 heads...LOL! She's not ready to go home yet but it may not be much longer. Today is day 7 in the hospital.

Oh my, didn't I have a wonderful suprise yesterday! Got home to find a parcel from Erie PA waiting for me. The name and address meant nothing to me. I opened it to find a beautiful large tin of Pizzelles from Petrone's in Erie, sent to me my Brenda! There are three flavours , Anise, Cinnamon and Vanilla, they smell divine and look so pretty! This will be the perfect accompaniment to the Trifle I made for dessert tonight! Brenda you really shouldn't have gone to the trouble with all you have been through but I truly appreciate it! Thanks so much for the birthday wishes -- it was a really wonderful birthday weekend. It started at a company party with a surprise birthday gift of a replacement of a ring that was lost (probably stolen) at the accident scene. Then a surprise birthday party last evening at The Vineyard on the outskirts of San Antonio, which was beautiful, the food outstanding, superb service and even the parking lot had some type of reflective glass pieces at night which was a perfect ending to a wonderful evening. The party was thrown by my daughter and god daughter and her husband. Friends and family came in from out of town and it was great fun. Then this morning they hosted a brunch at Mi Terra. Gina, I still have a few hurdles to get over due to the accident, but the main thing is that I am slowly getting over them, maybe not very gracefully, but over them! I am promised pictures of the party and when I get them I will post them. Thanks again for the b-day wishes. Brenda

And speaking from experience - a package of disposable facial cleansing cloths, some nice smelling soap and talcum powder, lip balm and oh - that first shower will feel soooooo incredibly good....welcome back to the human race.

I called her too. She says she's not eating much - no appetite. Doesn't help that lasagna or beef stew or whatever - all taste the same out of the hospital kitchen according to her, LOL. She wanted to thank everyone for their support.

LOL! I'll call tomorrow and remind her to change her unerwear...

I remember being sooooo sick in the hospital and that first shower...Lordy, that was like an experience that I'll never forget.

I agree, clean underwear and some real food and she'll feel a LOT better.

Hoping for a early "out" date from that particular sentence...

Great that she's mending....now if someone would bring her some nice home made chicken soup I'm sure she will feel better, and something to cover the opening in the back of those hospital gowns!
