UPDATE on Brenda 55

I just got off the phone with her and she said the power of the forum is working!!! Her blood oxygen level is up to 80. She sounded much better than the last time I heard from her. She was hoping to go home tomorrow but they looked at her like she had 3 heads...LOL! She's not ready to go home yet but it may not be much longer. Today is day 7 in the hospital.

The power of prayer, that's great. Brenda, I'm keeping you in my prayers that you will get to go home soon. I know you must be ready.

Congrats to those that are done already! Wow! You guys are fast! perennialfan273 - I'm glad your mom is not in pain right now. Yah, I've heard, too, that sometimes there are numerous surgeries when it comes to the back. I'm praying this is the only one she needs as well. (((HUGS))) Thanks for the update. Suzanne (hibiscusfan) - I got your update tonight. Please, always double-check to make sure I didn't mess anything up. I remember a request from you awhile back and thought I got it. I'm sorry if I overlooked it! I sure hate to make mistakes, but I'm not perfect yet for some reason. LOL I'm relieved we don't have to mail until November 25th, too! We're heading out of town again on Tuesday. It's busy, busy... Blessings, Angela Here is a link that might be useful: NEW All Player Compiled Want List Page (updated 10-25-09)

May? Brenda55? Anyone near the path of Hurricane Dolly?

Geez, thanks for checking in on us. Here, we haven't experienced anything but a couple of small showers from Dolly. We are supposed to start getting some rain from the outter bands in a few hours, but only a few inches, which is welcome. Dolly hit southwest of us, plus we are about 3 hours from the closest shoreline. They did bus alot of people here from the Brownsville & South Padre area. I am sitting here trying to figure out what to do with a couple of boxes of cukes that I bought and are on day 5 of Linda Lou's Sweet Pickles. I had a procedure on my back yesterday which limits my lifting to 5 pounds adn limited activity, which is not very conducive to canning...lol. Doc made this decision post procedure :(. I think Karen is far enough from us, but it looked on some of the radar that May might be experiencing alot of rain from the bands. Will hope to hear from them, too. Brenda

Wow. That platter! Wow. Fabulous. I really like Rick Bayless' books, every recipe of his that I've tried has been consistently yummy. And I think that the tupperware containers are great! Ever since I've done battle with Rubbermaid about some melted lids (it seems that one set of their microwave safe containers have lids that aren't microwave safe) I've been on the look out for "reliable" storage. Great job, Brenda! You've got great taste. Nina

Brenda, you have a heart of gold! Lori, you are so very deserving of any and all expressions of love, today and always:-) It's nice to see Mackenzie and Aleksi becoming friends, through the friendship of Lori and Brenda. Geez, I never find anything when I vacuum other than old boys's socks and dog hair. ((((Lori and Brenda)))) DONNA

And speaking from experience - a package of disposable facial cleansing cloths, some nice smelling soap and talcum powder, lip balm and oh - that first shower will feel soooooo incredibly good....welcome back to the human race.

I called her too. She says she's not eating much - no appetite. Doesn't help that lasagna or beef stew or whatever - all taste the same out of the hospital kitchen according to her, LOL. She wanted to thank everyone for their support.

I agree, clean underwear and some real food and she'll feel a LOT better.

Hoping for a early "out" date from that particular sentence...

Great that she's mending....now if someone would bring her some nice home made chicken soup I'm sure she will feel better, and something to cover the opening in the back of those hospital gowns!
