Malwarebytes Anti-Malware very frustrating!

I got notification today that my trial had expired....how I got a trial version the last time I tried to update....I have no idea. Anyway I uninstalled it and re-did the download, hopefully from the correct download place and after in re-installed, the same picture came up that said my trial had expired, but it updated it and now it is doing a scan. How can that "version" showing the expired trial if I uninstalled the program? Why is this happening? I've had this happen before....needed to get re-certified or something like that.

With the latest version upgrade there was a box to uncheck for the paid trial version. Missing that... at the top of Malwarebytes there is a place to click to return to the free version. I wonder if this is happening in your case? At the top of the box for the free version it should say Malwarebytes Anti-Malware(Free) 2.02.1012

Same thing happened to me. I'm very careful about unchecking the boxes but I'm suspicious that they are no longer offering 'Free.' I just keep downloading the trial version.

Bean counter do you live close enough to visit the friend? If so you might consider downloading Avast along with the latest manual updates and place those on a thumb drive and take over to her. I had a nasty computer brought here and could not get online, nor could I install Superantispyware or Malwarebytes from a thumbdrive. The AVG had been disabled, the computer was a mess. Then I tried Avast and amazingly I was allowed to install it, run the updates manually then scan. This I did in Safe mode and it removed much of my problem and that allowed me to then install the other safety programs and Highjckthis. It was a long fight but the alternative is for the friend to wipe the hard drive and start over, also a long and frustrating task.

Welcome... I might run CCleaner again .. it really should take just moments unless you have Tons & Tons of old outdated files. I don't think ive ever seen it run more than maybe 3 or 4 minutes. Thank you zep516, I understand now that when you click on remove, it automatically places it in Quarintine and you later can retrive it from there if you need to. So if I am correct Malwarebytes puts it in quarintine, you can't place it there yourself? thirdfrt!!!

if you install the trial you can look at first page of the program,, think its home page and end the trial - then it becomes free and stops full time protection or whatever the difference is.

That happens here also. Confusing. So I ignored it and proceeded to run Malwarebytes --- no problems. It does the job.
