That's what puzzles me, I don't see a pdf file listed. I've copied (see below)what I received from my contact. She says that she sends this email to about 50 addresses and I'm the only one that has a problem with it. There is no pdf icon anywhere in the email. Just double click on to the pdf icon and it will open. If you want to print it, just drag it on to your desktop and print from there. zep516, Thanks. I point out for those reading that I did update the subject Acrobat Reader, and my question was driven by the surprise that Acrobat is supporting both a 7.x and an 8.x version. Going to Acrobat's update site with 7.X installed resulted in an update to 7.X+, not an update to 8.X. Seems there must be some reason, maybe 7.X will run in Windows 2K and 8.X will not. I am running XP on both target machines. I also went to Acrobat's update site on a machine with 8.X installed, and it too got an update, to 8.X+ in this case.

AR can be an absolute monster to remove. A free application called REVO is regularly recommended here for uninstalling. I would use it in the Advanced Mode. It first creates a restore point, uses the target application's uninstaller, and then searches the drive and registry for leftovers. With AR don't be surprised if there are many. You will have an option as to whether or not to delete the findings. There is no backup so the choice will be yours and lasting. Personally I have never had a regret with anything I have removed which has been identified by REVO, nor do I recall any postings either. DA

It does sound like they got reader on your pc now and not the full acrobat. They may have thought they were doing a security update and not realized it was a different program, which would not surprise me for geek squad. here are some options for you. This one is by Adobe Create PDF Foxit PDF Creator CutePDF Writer Best Free PDF Writer Best Free Non-Adobe PDF Reader Have you tried going to control panel > add remove programs and seeing if your program is still listed there? If so if you hilight it does it give you an option to repair? IF it is still listed then try going to your programs folders in explorer and finding the executable file for it and seeing if you can double click on it. IF the program is still on the pc you should be able to get it back up.
