That's what puzzles me, I don't see a pdf file listed. I've copied (see below)what I received from my contact. She says that she sends this email to about 50 addresses and I'm the only one that has a problem with it. There is no pdf icon anywhere in the email. Just double click on to the pdf icon and it will open. If you want to print it, just drag it on to your desktop and print from there. AR has become an inflated and cumbersome application. Plus as you now know it is a real pain to remove from a system. Since I have plenty of disk space I just leave it on-boardand dormant as I too now use Foxit. I recommend it to all who will listen. All I had to do was insure that FI was the default reader for pdf. A new version came out not too long ago and I have had no concerns with it. You can get it at Filehippo. DA

If you do decide to remove AR please consider using REVO. Since v5.0, AR has been getting larger and larger while integrating deeper into the O/S. It can be a real bugger to remove with it's own utility if you can at all. I've seen corrupt uninstaller reports when trying to do so. Also, if you do decide to install the current version of AR I would suggest removing v5.0 first. My recollection is during the v3.0, v4.0, v5.0 era all too often those who attempted an overwrite actually ended up with two versions installed via the same folder. DA

Obviously...whatever is going on...it's not simple. As you didn't post what system you have...any pertinent facts about it...what version of Windows you're running...what anti malware/anti virus programs you're running...I'm really at a loss what to advise you at this point, Shaddy. Actually...my best advice would be to send you to a computer repair shop that you know and trust. Recommendations are difficult because I know nothing about your geographic location. I live in the northeast and wouldn't hesitate to use the local Staples computer repair service if my private source was no longer available...or if I couldn't root out and correct the problem myself. But beyond that...I'm of little help. The fact that all your PDF files are now zipped is a concern. I do hope that you have backed up your files...have them stored in a secondary location. The corrective answer to your systems problem may be simple. You could have a series of unrelated small glitches that together are causing a major issue but it's nearly impossible to discover it or them and/or help with it given the information known so far...and not being able to have a hands-on approach. I could recommend that you do a clean install of whatever Windows [or other] program you're using...if you have the original program disk...but in doing so, you'll lose all your files. If you've backed them up prior to this...you can always add them back into your system once you've done the re-installation. I'm sorry, Shaddy...but I suggest the best approach now is to seek hands on professional assistance if you don't want to re-install your system.
