A scrollbar.

the status bar and a scroll bar are 2 different items, the scroll bar does what you said you put your mouse on it and slide it back and forth to see the full page, the status bar is below that and shows information, some firefox add ons put icons and information on the status bar, it also shows when a page is loading or Done.

as zep said if you mean the one that scrolls that is the scroll bar.

I thank you kindly.

Thank you. After my first posts about the task bar disappearing, I asked the name of the bar at the bottom of the page to be sure I was using the correct name and found that it is the scrollbar. Sorry for the confusion.

No big deal. It just helps.

I can't believe I had two typos in my post. I guess I was in too much of a hurry. I'm a quality speller, but a horrible typist.
